I have been searching for a list of what badges are removable and which have holes underneath them, I am going to leave the 2 Toyota badges front and rear and paint gloss black, but would like to remove as many badges as possible. How are the Toyota badges attached? glued, studs? I have had the car for 24 hours and the badges have already been on too long in my opinion lol. I have a 2012 Prius II. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hey DB, I know the front fender emblems have "locator pins" on them and is stuck on with 3M double-sided tape. I believe both emblems on each side of the rear hatch are also mounted the same way. I have a 2011 but I think it's the same for the 2012 model. I removed my side emblems and bought some black(same color as my car) plastic plugs from OSH (Orchard Supply Hardware) to conceal the holes. Hope this helps....

On te rear the Prius emblem has two locator holes held with sticky tape. The hybrid is just stickied on without any holes.

Could you post a pic of the plugs? Do they come color specific or just got lucky?

Apologize but my camera isn't good enough to show the plug detail on a black car. The plugs come in black only so I was lucky, but I'd imagine you could use your touch up paint to match them. The plugs have a slight concave profile but probably could be sanded down to be flatter but I didn't bother to try it. A whole lot cheaper than having the holes filled and painted!

I agree about cheaper... but that might be too cheap looking. I really don't like the badges either... Thanks for the info though.

so every single badge on the car has locator holes under it? Wth might have to just paint them body color, pretty good with paint just not very good with blending.

I just took a pic of the emblems from the car, as it came from the factory (only 1 of the "HYBRID" ones from the front fenders, though, since the 2 of them are just the same).... I took a shot of the front of the emblems, then took a picture of them with little yellow markers beside each "peg" on all the emblems. I just put a big yellow marker on the black base of the front "T" emblem, because the whole thing fits into a huge oval on the front of the car.....so the whole thing is a "peg"! lol P1030119.JPG P1030123.JPG

My bodykit took care of the front one, as it was an entirely new front. The 2 on the front fenders were removed and replaced with turn signals (there's a hole under each of the 2 emblems that is a little smaller than the size of a dime that the wiring went thru), and I had the rear panel under the back half-glass filled and painted. I have a Lexus theme on the car now, so I have a chrome "L" on the front and the rear...

I hope it's not something like the whole rebadging thing! Although, people drive all over the place with no badges on their car at all, so I don't know what effect decals/emblems would have.

Just curious, why would you have a Lexus emblem on your Prius?

First reason was that I hate the "T" emblems. They're just fugly. Then, I started seeing all kinds of pictures of Prii with these cool body kits on them......and "L" emblems. It looked SO much better, like it was meant to be on there to start with (like people feel after they take off their stock shifter and put in the electronic push-button one). It had nothing to do with the brand. If it would have been a "Z" on all the pictures of the modified Prii, then I would have wanted a "Z" on mine! lol

There are several other members who felt as I did, and they have done the same emblem modification(s).

Alright the way I see it is I have 2 choices, Plasti-Dip all emblems with gloss enhancer, or remove all badges and paint body color. Car is Winter Gray Metallic so not sure, what do you guys think?
