Route Planning on Standard NAV

    We got our silver/dark gray v 3 four weeks ago and have been enjoying it a lot more than I ever expected (my first hybrid). One thing I do find difficult to use is the NAV system. Correct me if I'm wrong but there doesn't seem to be a way to easily modify a route plan that the NAV provides and then to save the modified route. (You can only save destinations, it seems). I have changed routes by using the detour function, but I can't seem to save the modified route when the system is powered off. Is there something I'm missing or a way around this shortcoming? We're planning a 2000+ mile round trip and it is a pain each time we power up, to have to reenter the detours to recreate the desired route.

    Other than by keeping the route "active", I've found no way to save a route. You are able to add several intermediate waypoints along the way though.

    Thanks. That sure takes the joy out of using this system, especially for complicated routes.
