Somehow I keep acquiring new scratches on my temperature control display (the glass part that reads outside/inside temp and air flow level). I tried to cut out a ipad screen protector but it looks terribly sloppy! I would buy one if I could find one that fit the Prius specifically..... any ideas?

Or try a motorcycle shop, they have great products for cleaning faceshields and plastic windshields on bikes.

Thanks guys. I kind of wanted to prevent the scratches instead of fixing them once they inevitably build up. Maybe your both right, I could just get it cleaned up once it gets to be too much. It would be nice if someone made a screen protector for it though... I'm sure i'm not the only one that doesn't want to scratch the glass. I think there was some kind of protector on it when I drove it off the lot but I can't say for sure.

I can't believe they use such soft plastic for this area of the dash. I have only used a light touch with a microfiber cloth and mine is scratched too.

I wonder if there is some kind of clear, spray coating that would protect the surface?

4"x12" 3M Scotchgard 8 Mil Paint Protection Film Bra - Clear | eBay

Perhaps this will do but you need to make the template of the display first.
I will do that just by pressing a piece of paper over the display, then use your finger nail to score along the edge of the display and cut off with scissors. Double check the fitting and trace it over to the 3M clear bra, cut and test fit again before the wet application.

Same here. Top-shelf microfiber cloths, soft-touch from myself and still scratchy-scratchy.

Here's a tip: clear packing tape. Trust me, it really works. I've got a piece on my two watches, on the LCD display of my still camera, and on the LCD display of my video camera. It's as clear as water (as long as you don't get an air bubble under it) and if it does get scratched or scuffed, you just peel it off and replace it. My watch faces would've been hacked up long ago if it wasn't for this tip!

Well, I finally got the time to put the packing tape on my display tonight -- it works and looks great.

I used 3M clear packing tape (the stuff you use to seal up boxes). I laid an oversized piece down over the control panel, then used a brand new X-acto knife to slice around the top and sides, using the seam of the plastic as a guide for the blade. I then carefully cut a semi-circle around the fan knob, and finished up using the bottom seams to guide the X-acto blade again.

Once it was on, I carefully squeezed out all the air bubbles, and slightly pricked the ones that couldn't be squeezed out.

It's crystal clear and will stay that way (just as it has on my watch and camera screens). But if if it gets scratched, it's simple enough to pull the tape up and replace it.

I'll try posting a pic tonight, but there's really nothing to see -- it looks like the control panel. You can't see the tape on it at all.
