    Hi everybody,
Any ideas or experience with iPad (and iPhone) mounts for the use of the driver in your PriusC?

I have never used a car mount for a iPhone, but I've been eyeing a couple. It seems a cup holder would be too low, this cd mount looks interesting. It would be perfect to fit a mount behind the steering wheel in that little cubby, maybe instead of a clamp a spreader thing to grip the edge and a ball to swivel. I haven't looked into any iPad stuff, that would be cool too.

Thansk, Among the reviews I noticed that it does not fit to every car, but I couldn't find a PriusC reviewer, anybody?

When traveling with child who sits in the car-seat in the middle of the back seat, I make an iPad suspension from a single piece of cord. It holds iPad in landscape position between front seats, and ties down to metal posts of the headrests of two front seats. Cord forms two connected loops (loops are in the vertical plane), which are interconnected at the top of the iPad, preventing loops from moving apart. The cord does not obscure the picture as there is enough black space around the screen. Additionally, the cord can be secured at the back of the iPad with tape. It works in 2005 Prius, should work in C too

    Thanks,
    - Alex

Also as far as pictures go, it won't let you charge (or connect to) in landscape orientation, I don't own the thing, just based on the pictures,

Wouldn't it be too bouncy?! It needs more stability for watching movies or ... or maybe I misunderstood the loops, it is dangling from a rope by two loops, right?

See the link in my post #3 above. Doesn't specifically say C, just "Prius", but I believe we all have the same head units.

It was pretty stable. It's not only hanging on the cord but also leaning against the front seats, so its about as stable as headrest- mount screens, at least on interstate.

I have just been using a vent mount for my iPhone in my c. It works great. Bought it from Walmart for $6.

Anybody used these seat mounts, the ones that are bolted to the base of your chair and has a goose neck?

I use a ProClip and it is 100% non intrusive to the OEM dash. Works great too.

I was hoping to see an actual installation from someone here, rather than just generic photos from the manufacturer.

I use this for my Galaxy Nexus and it will fit an iPhone too:
Capdase HR00-CA01 Car Mount Holder for Mobile Phones / iPhone / iPod / iPod Touch / GPS - Capdase - HR00-CA01
It suctions incredibly strong to smooth surfaces like the windshield but not at all to the bumpy dash. So then I also bought this:
Capdase Mounting Disc for Capdase Suction Car Mounts - Capdase - MD00-0001
A little sticky disc I can put on the dash so now the suction mount works.

They also sell a rear headrest mount for iPad:
Capdase Adjustable Car Headrest Mount Holder for Apple iPad / Tablet PC / Andriod Tablet - Capdase - HRAPIPAD-CH01

But not one for the driver to be able to see a tablet. And that's probably a good thing! ;)

    PROCLIP - iPhone 4S mount
    ImageUploadedByTapatalk1342496085.116077.jpg

    CLOSE UP SIDE VIEW

    Comes in 2 parts:
    1) The main C attachment
    2) Device holster

    Device holster swivels and rotates

    INSTALLATION
C Clip is thin and is held in place by wedging between molding by a thin grooved piece of plastic. It came with little tools to gently open the gap between the molding for a solid fit.

The main clip can be moved left or right as to be positioned any where in front of the air vents. I chose the middle so my phone would not block my HSI screen.

    TOP PART OF CLIP
    ImageUploadedByTapatalk1342496541.121824.jpg

The top section also wedges between the molding with a small grooved piece of plastic for a nice fit.

I love it and it has worked very well so far. The phone holster can be adjusted to be wider or more narrow should I change cases on my phone. The ProClip comes in a custom size/fit for each car and phone device.
