A Swiss Engineer has started a new webpage showing a credible effort showing his view of what could be done for auto's with one of the Lenr (Cold Fusion) reactors, that are being touted recently by mulitple companies/Scientific and Military organizations around the world.

Cold Fusion is enjoying a revival lately because of:

    1. Three companies that have anounced plans to mass produce LENR units of various sizes and outputs, as early as this year. Rossi's E-Cat, the Greek Co. Defkalion, and one other called Buillion(sp).

ECAT.com - The Official Website of Andrea Rossi's Energy Catalyzer, E-Cat - ECAT Multiple Scientists and Engineers have witnessed demonstrations and have said Rossi's reactors work. And Rossi has sold at least one of his 1 MegaW units to a military org.

Defkalion - Green Technologies They have gotten to prototype status, and it is one of thier 45Kw units that the Swiss Eng. is using to modify the S Sedan.

    2. Multiple Scientific and Military org's have started research efforts or invested in LENR projects.

Nasa has funded 200K$/yr to one of their Scientists to work on LENR.

An MIT scientist has anounced that he has a LENR device that has been been producing extra heat for the last several months.

I could keep going on and on listing all the new reports that have been coming in lately, but if you go to e-catworld.com and review Frank Akland's postings you can read up on it all yourself.

Sadly (inevitably?) Rossi and Focardi have been unable to publish in a peer-reviewed journal (writing on your own blog doesn't count). Postings don't count, published papers do.

Some scepticism is required in this case. But then, how many peer reviewed articles did Edison submit, or Tesla for that matter.

Getting anomolous excess heat from Compressed Nickel/Hydrogen devices is hardley being challenged anymore, its been done so many times and ways. The question is more if it can be stabilized, and sustained, with usefull amounts of energy.

Reactionary scepticism in the Scientific community has made it difficult to get studies published, or to get patents in the U.S.

I'm working on a system that uses Pixie Dust and Faerie Farts. It has infinite range and never has to be refilled.

Edison was an inventor not a physicist. He wanted to sell you his products, not prove how they worked. Tesla likely would have had peer reviewed papers, if there was a peer review process back then. He did write about alternating magnetic fields, eventually using this theory to create AC motors. One of his professors disputed his theory until he was able to demonstrate it in a device. I think that qualifies as peer review:)

You never need peer review to get a patent. Can you show me a device that proves cold fusion, the same way tesla proved alternating magnetic fields? I am interested. Is there a place where I can touch one?

First let me say that I am not fully convinced that Cold Fusion is the real thing. I haven't looked at a functioning system armed with all my test equipment. And all the recent developements could be just a cascade of pure wishfull lunacy. God knows we could really use a new energy paradyne to get us out of our current problems.

Next, I have no problems with the Scientific method, or the peer review process. Although, it is not full proof, infact it can get quite political and parochial, with everybody touting his own interests, and viewpoints of reality.

Rossi is an inventor and a Physicist and he worked with other physicists. Using trial and error methodes with some clues and materials, chemistry knowledge, reviewing published papers, he can discover new principals and work them into practical devices. That is why I mentioned Edison.

Next, if Rossi and others come up with a practical Lenr device, demonstrates this device until he gets financial backing, they have absolutely no reason to expend resources and time trying to convince anyone of us that he has a new power device. What he does need to do is get this device out of the lab and manufacturing plant and to the people. And that is what he is doing. His 10kwatt thermo device is going through UL tests, and he hopes to get these devices ready to sell within the year. If he can do that then I think he is past the point of publishing papers, he has started a revolution, other people can mop up and figure out how the Scientific community screwed up their Standard Model, and use that knowledge to help refine these devices.

The main reason I posted was to show what Lenr Cars had come up with for the S Sedan, if these devices pan out. I don't want to get into a long drawn out argument about methodes. We'll all find out soon enough. I also wanted to let people know that there is a rapidly rising tide of Lenr news recently. Check it out for yourselves, decide for your selves.

Check out e-cat world to find the MIT Scientist who has been running his device for the last several months, I'm sure he would be glad to show it to anybody.

Check out e-cat world to find out about the Italian high school physics lab class that created their own Lenr devices and demonstrated excess heat. They immediately patented the device in the schools name. All these people want to make MONEY, the hell with publishing papers. Get the Startup Company going and make money!

As I recall, Rossi has been saying 'within a year' for at least 5 years;)

Don't get me wrong, I would love to see this type of breakthrough. But I am not going to waste any energy getting excited about this until I actually see repeatable tests and a product.

And what about the actions of Darpa, Nasa, and MIT. Have you read anything that I linked? Is your mind that closed to the possibility. There is two things wrong with your aproach. You will be right the vast majority of the time, but you will be wrong eventually. Someday something completely out of the blue will prove out. But because of your attitude and others the patent office in the U.S. will not even entertain any Lenr Patents. And Scientific Journals will not publish Lenr papers. That gaurantees that what Pons and Fleschman started in 1989 has languished for over 20 years. If Lenr proves out I hope our Scientific community learns a lesson from it.

Maybe that is what all inventors do, can't stand to think of pushing hard for more than another year, then they run into another unforseen problem. Otherwise I think your choice sounds fair to me.

I'll admit I'm wrong if proven wrong. It's up to the person making the outlandish claim to backup the claim, it's not up to others to disprove the outlandish claim.

Come on! Hasn't anybody read Lenr Cars first phase plans to put a 45KW thermo generator and four 500Watt thermo electric generators to get 1250 net watts to charge the required 85kw battery pack, into the front trunk of the S Sedan. the Lenr generator and thermoelec. devices run 24/7 continuous charging (unless the pack gets fully charged). Now that sounds terribly inefficient, 43kw of waste heat. The guy doing this has also planned Phase 2 and 3 iterations. He has gone to alot of trouble to do this, I think he really thinks Lenr has a real chance to work.

First time I read that I thought it was someone ridiculing Lenr cars.

In order to get rid of that 45.75 kW of waste heat in a stationary vehicle would require a cooling system and airflow considerably bigger than the Prius engine has. That is going to fit in the Model S front trunk along with all the other hardware?:ROFLMAO:

Surprizingly, one of the readers over at E-Cat.com says that the exhaust pipe on a normal ICE engine can get rid of 100Kwatt of heat. Ofcourse the engine doubles as a pretty efficient pump of heat. The normal radiator gets rid of around 50kw of heat, that is pretty bulky stuff.

And for Austin here is a post of someone who visited Mit and the Lenr cell that has been running since Jan. in a sealed container.

Thanks. We definitely know fusion is possible, and if hot fusion is there, why not cold fusion. The question is can you actually build a reliable device with controlled reactions. I didn't know that MIT had produced a demonstration device. That means we are making progress. MIT still can't build a reliable device. Maybe next year?

MIT is still playing with the Pons and Fleshman Paladium cells, while others have gone to Nickel and Hydrogen under pressure with radio waves and an additive or two. These later devices are claimed to be putting out up to 3700 watts/gram of Nickel powder for 6 months. That would be Rossi's and Defklalion devices. They claim and have demonstrated enough to win backing and are desperateley trying to get devices that are stabilized with high enough heat to run turboelec. units. And get them mass produced before anybody else.
