any time your car gets hit, always tell them your neck hurts. even if it doesn't. injuries cost way more than cars, and the insurance companies get worried if they think they might have to pay medical claims. years ago my ex-wife's car got hit when i was driving it. i told them my neck hurt, and they sent a check for more than the body shop estimate w/in 2 weeks. insurance companies are a necessary evil at best, and most of them are pure slime. if you tell em the truth, they will try to hose you.

Sorry to hear you have travellers. I too have them and am thinking about switching. I filed a claim with them a year and a half ago when someone stole the catalytic converter off of my Nissan P/U. Travellers tried to say they did not owe me anything. They claimed I could get the truck fixed for less than the deductible of $250.00.

I found out later that it actually cost more to repair that vehicle with a aftermarket converter along with the towing since I could not drive the vehicle the way it was. I could have, but it would have been a cop magnet. After it all was said and done it cost almost $320.00 to repair the truck with the towing included. Travellers finally agreed to pay on the claim only after I had a supplemental claim issued.

The real question is this, with the aftermarket converter, will I have problems down the road. Who knows. I too am disappointed in Travellers handling of their claims.

I hope you have better luck down the road Chris11!

Funny you said that. My wife's shoulder actually did hurt from the seat belt. We didn't think to mention it and thankfully she's fine. After I found out how the ins co lowballed us I said to her we should have "mentioned" it. do not know if it would have made a difference or not ......

I like your words "necessary evil" .... I use it all the time when referring to our government...lol. Perhaps I'll add insurance companies to that niche.

Thanks. I'm wondering if all insurance companies are the same. Probably. Another thing I don't think I mentioned was that the accident was here in WA state and the other driver was a Canadian with ICBC insurance. So you'd think MY company would really try to make me happy and keep me as a customer since my company is going to be reimbursed by the Canadian company.

Ya know, I'm a pessimist ... if there's a bad side I'll be looking at it. For a couple of weeks I lamented the lost of my beloved Prius and ranted about how an innocent driver could get so screwed. Then I looked at new Priuses and decided I'm going to get one. I'm 66, have the money to buy one so suddenly the "bad" had turned into a wowzer, I'm going to get a new car, attitude. Perhaps this is the silver lining that optimists see.:)
