I am interested in getting the impressions/comments from the priuschat community on Softex Seats. Specifically:

    Comfort Level:

    Leg Support
    Lumbar Location/Size
    Overall Long Drive Comfort

    Clearance/Interference:

SEAT Pitch (distance from steering column /gas pedal/center console):
Resultant back seat room for passenger.

Unofrtunately I have to say that I am again un-impressed with the 8 way adjustable softex seat on the PiP Advanced. While I agree that the upgraded seats are far superior to the standard (cloth), which was like a medieval torture device in my 2005 prius, it is still lacking. Specifically:

Lumbar is not located (vertically) properly and instead of moving your spine it results in moving my BELT! Something on the back of the seat doesn't fit right...I think this is the culprit.

Leg Support (for those of us above 6') is adequate, but could be better.

As people on priuschat have noted before, interference with the center console (right knee) is a nuisance-no biggie.

In another life, before marriage and kids, I had a G35 (Infiniti) coupe and I LOVED the seats. Downside is the seat weighed at least 50lbs more! Or maybe the Lexus division can start selling a Prius model????

That would be the Lexus CT200h, although there is no plug-in model.. yet

The CT200H website list NuLuxe? as the leather substitute? Wasn't this the rumored material for the Prius Softex seats?

I am in the process of working out a deal on an advanced pkg.

The softex seats seem very comfortable. I didnt think that the leather seats in my 08 were bad but I didnt like that my head was so close to the roof. The pip seems better

Agreed. I had a 2005 and I believe the bucket seat approach is the way to go with the Prius (like the Saturn-although a totally different car). Softex is nice, but the interface between the seat and the seat back is troublesome...I think there was some sort of mismatch, after a while sitting in the seat you will notice it. Is is much better that anything previously though-yes!
