I have noticed that the front end of my Prius III scrapes on the standard concrete tire stops that you find in most parking lots. You would think that the designers would have allowed enough clearance to park the car. I have to park almost 18" before the tire stop to avoid contact and that awful grating sound. Any experience and suggestions?

Moiz – It is just another one of the old habits you need to break now that you are driving a Prius. Parking slots-spaces are designed to accommodate the larger end of vehicle length distribution. The length of a Prius 2G, 3G, c, or v is such that you can comfortably park it well within the boundaries of a typical parking slot-space without rolling the front tires up to touch the concrete tire stop.

Change your parking technique and start practicing to park so your rear end is well within the marked parking space WITHOUT rolling all the way up to bump the concrete tire stop. You just need to break that old, now bad, habit you have of rolling up to have the front tires touch the concrete stop.
