I'm not sure I'm using the right term for the posts. I have the Heavy Duty floor mats that do not have the opening for the posts nobs to fit into, so there is a slight bulge where the mat sits over the fitting. In previous models (I have a 2012), it was possible to pry out the posts. Has anyone discovered a way to remove the 2012 model's posts? Or will I just have to live with the bump.

Or you could drill holes in the mats. :)

A punch would probably make a cleaner hole.

Those nobs are there to keep the mat from sliding up under the gas pedal. When the mat gets old, it will jam the gas pedal mechanism if it's not attached to those nobs.

I recommend putting some holes in the mat so that it can be attached to the nobs.

He probably wants no holes for water to leak down. Just my guess.

The 2012's have the 1/4 turn tabs that do not just work with any hole. they have to work with the special eyelets. AFAIK Weathertech is the only after market with the correct fastener on the market as of right now.

Wish the passenger side had those knobs/pins as well. At least it wold keep the mat from sliding forward allowing the carpet to get dirty.
