The light output can very depending on the kevlar rating.

4300K which is OEM will be the brightest will still have a slight halogen hue. 5K bulbs will be white. 6K bulbs will be white w/a slightly blue hue. As u go higher in K's, the lower the light output will get.

Sorry that I was not clear. I would like to know how is your hid compare to the stock halogen in term of driving visibility. I'm looking for vision enhance, not really look. Thanks

It's like a night & day difference. The only this I don't like is the cutoff on the 2012.......its kinda funky with its 2nd step in the cutoff.

So I'm going to give you guys my $0.25 worth.

HID kits are crap in general because:
    1. Glare (even though it's in a projector based headlight)
    2. Ballasts are usually not OEM so they tend to blow out and not have the safety features necessary
    3. Some kits don't come with a wire harness and pulling power from the headlight wiring is not a good idea for many reasons
    4. Rebased bulbs lasts around 1-2 years before the blow out and yes all HID kits are rebased bulbs.
So my suggestion is to retrofit and don't look like a poser. I've retrofitted every car I own (S2000 on the Integra, S2000 on the Accord, LS430 with TSX lense on the Rav4). I'm debating if I want to do this to the Prius or not but probably the S2000 or the FX one.

Yes I am however I don't use them as I have a friend help me and rather than glue the projectors in, the way it's done allows for adjustment such as rotation clockwise/counterclock and aiming left and right.

If you've used them in the past, how well aligned are they? The problem with high quality projectors with sharp cutoff is that I can see the misalignment and that would drive me crazy.

I thought HIDPlanet used to sell them in the past or was I thinking something else. On the Rav4 Forums there was another guy that used Lightwerkz and loves it.

Unfortunately my manufacturing skills are not that good so I have to work with a friend.

I tried the headlight on the new Prius and it's not that bad compared to the old reflector based housing on the 2 more recent vehicles. Given this car is suppose to save me money, dropping around $1k to get stuff to retrofit isn't exactly helping... but then again I opted for some pretty expensive floor mats (WeatherTech) and a 3M clear bra.

Yeah, years ago they did sell projectors & ballasts but then the owner of The Retrofit Source (Matt) bought HIDPlanet.

Ohh! I wonder if the XB35 is as good as the H1 XB35 bulbs. I'll have to look it up.

I can vouch for Lightwerkz, I had them retrofit the headlights in my Subaru Sti from reflector HID to S2000 projectors. They really do great work in converting to a proper HID projector.

    Hi all,

I also decided to install HID kit, and was going to go with xenonsupply due to their solution to ground wire shadow. Now that morimoto kits also have a solution, I have a few questions:

    1. Is the TRS XB35 bulb the only one to solve the ground wire issue, or the regular H11 bulb now works as well?
    2. Is this TRS kit worth extra money in terms of quality compared to xenonsupply kits?
    3. They say XB35 bulbs are "on steroids". Does this mean they would burn faster and have shorther life span compared to regular H11?

    Thanks so much.

Ok after 3you days after installing the motomori xb35 hid kit with relay there is NO ground shadow issue. The lights are very bright and white. Not blue. I will see how they last. They come with a 5 year warranty.

Hmmmm, wonder if they'll take back my un-used "H11: Morimoto 3Five" bulbs that had terrible shadow issues?
