I got 'er today. Blizzard White...so what's new.

Bought it from a dealer in Yakima, WA, and they were happy to see it go. Told me right to my face they were happy since the Plug In's weren't selling at all. I paid $31,150 plus license of $83. And WA tax. Total of $33,477.25

Drove it to our daughter's house an hour away where we're staying for the night. Got it plugged in right now.

Thanks to Allannde for his help in making up my mind....changed it once but then rechanged it back.

Two quick questions before I get the encyclopedia out that came with it.

    (1) I just plugged it. Not on timer....will this get it a charge and will it shut off when the bat is full?

    (2) On my old 2009 I had my accumulated MPG...I reset it each fillup. I don't see any accumulation of MPG on this one. Am I simply missing it?

    Thanks for all your knowledge

    Congrats on your new Plug-In!

    (1) Yes, it will turn off automatically when it's done charging. You still have to unplug the charger manually :) The car will tell you if the charge port door is left open.

    (2) There are two sets of displays (1 and 2) that you can reset by pressing the Trip button. I reset 1 on every fill-up and never reset 2 to get the accumulated readings.

Thankee. And Mark I found the trip puter .... guess I should have just read the manual...lol. Without knowing how to drive it I got 69.7 mpg. And that included 12 miles on it from the dealer...no telling what they did there. (I do know they had it idling with the air on when I arrived)

I loved my 2009 and I suspect I'll be loving this one. It does seem to ride much nicer.

Well, gotta go back out and play with it somemore.

Lack of real-world data will do that.

It has only been 5 months since the first owners started posted info about their first drives.

When nationwide rollout begins, that data will be collected & shared. Until then, enjoy your plug-in alone.

Welcome to the Plug-in community. We just got ours in June. 1400 miles on it and just filled it up with gas station visit #2. :) It is an amazing vehicle. Enjoy.

    Cheers

I just got back from a trip to get some Coffee. (Any excuse to drive, right?) After last night's full charge it read 13.1 EV miles. The trip there was 5.7 miles, all on EV, and a big uphill, plus return. Still have 3.2 EV left. The engine never started. I'm loving this car. The people who have a daily commute of under 13 to 15 miles round trip must be smiling ... lol.

I do have a scan gauge from my smashed up 2009. Hopefully it will work.

I got the base package. Real base. The only option was the Blizzard White. Not even floor mats so I'll probably order them off here.

I had contacted the San Diego dealer everyone on here mentions ... and he was approximately $2000 more. And the other dealer mentioned on here with the initial "D" was over also...but not as much as the SD dealer.

Oh, just gotta mention this. When I got back from my drive, all smiles, I said to my wife ... all the way to McDonalds round trip and it was free. She sarcastically replied, "Except for the 33 thousand." Dern woman. :)

It still amazes me that certain dealers are still charging over MSRP. Grats on the new car. Now start modding it out.

Yes, the MPGs are crazy. Last night, all HV as I had no EV charge left, I drove 14.5 miles with an average speed of about 30. I use Power mode to get up to speed quickly then I go into stealth mode. Got home and it said 72mpg. This was with the AC on set at 76 and the fan turned up (had to keep baby in the back seat cool)

460 miles into this tank and I am showing 94 MPG.

I am saving about $220 a month in gas over the MDX I was driving.

    Excellent bielinsk.

I don't think we'll be able to match your mpg since we do a lot of long distance driving with no opportunity to recharge each night. (Unless I can talk various motels/hotels to let us run an extension cord out to the parking lot.) My logic when buying this one was that's it produces better than "normal" Prius mpg, with the opportunity of plug-in when available. It wasn't really an economic decision since our style of driving wouldn't allow a pay off until long after I'm errr, in the crematorium yelling ouch, ouch, ouch. I simply like the thought of being able to plug in. And I love the technology.

The dealer attempted a big sell on buying the extended warranty because of all the electronics and the possibility of water getting into them. I turned the warranty down by dazzling him with my promise to never drive it in the rain. He was speechless until he caught onto my attempt at humor.

Time to go back out to see how the second recharge is doing.

If you want an extended warranty, buy it through this site.

I found out that the trip meter's will only display up to 9999.9 miles. When you hit 10,000 miles, it rolls over to 0 miles and starts again. However, the MPG value doesn't reset, so you can still use it to record your lifetime MPG.

So you've driven yours over 10,000 miles? Just curious ... have you had ANY problems, especially with major parts?

    Thanks.

Other than finding time to get to the dealer for the 10K service (first oil change), I've had no major problems. The one "problem" I've had is is the door guard on the driver's door likes to partially pop-off from time to time. I'm able to get it back on pretty easily. I probably should take it back and have them glue it on better, but it's a really minor annoyance that happens maybe once a month.

That use to happen to my parking brake rubber pad - time and time again - but with just a little bit of epoxy - wamo - it was just as good as new. ;)
