Does anyone else have a problem when getting gas with your Prius C?

When I put the nozzle in for the gas and place the lock on it, it doesnt take long before the nozzle unlocks itself.

I know my fuel tank is not full... But every time I reset it unlocks itself. Even when I hold the nozzle handle down the safety feature usually engages and I have to take the nozzle out and reinsert.

I'm a little scared that the gas will overflow because I cant really gauge if it my tank is full or not.

Is there anything I can do to fix it?

You can slow down the rate of refueling. This will reduce turbulence in the filler neck which can confuse the venturi on the gas pump nozzle. As a rule, about 0.1 gallons/second is a rational rate. This does mean it'll take more than a couple seconds to blast gasoline into your tank, however you'll always get a positive venturi stop when the tank is full and almost never any overflow.

I had this issue at one station. It shut off every ~3 seconds no matter how slow I pumped. I haven't had it happen since I assumed it was pump specific.

This happened to me also, just assumed it was the pump.
