yah you can really appreciate how little noise the car makes i wonder if i get some dynamat or something to minimize the wheel and road noise would it be worthwhile/effective?

it picks up fairly well and just dead silent, but yeah totaly waste of energy/electricity but is fun from time to time

I hesitate to drive EV power mode because I get 14.1 miles full charge. I figured by using power mode, my range would drop. Resulting less range at full charge.

    Dont you think?

I always use power mode, and I have been climbing from 11.4 and am at 12.2 as of this morning.

I didn’t realize that you could re-map the EV drive by selecting Power Mode. It really gets the car moving, and is a lot more fun to drive. Now how much more battery it uses over its regular EV start up mode remains to be seen. I did move into the power bar area very easily with the re mapping, but the ICE didn’t start. I’m not sure if it was pure luck or the threshold is set higher? I’ve only used this feature when driving in HV.

It works like this for the regular Prius as well. Normally we can't go past the middle line of the HSI without the ICE firing up. With EV Mode selected you can go all the way into the Power section.

I used power mode in EV yesterday and I turned the ICE on by mistake. It was a trip that I wouldve made in EV alone easily. :/

Yeah I tried it too cause of this thread....you gotta be so soft with pedal i started ICE also...LOL, but after it shut off i played around with it for kicks, it does feel awesome with the instant torque without any engine noise. pretty cool but man does the EV range fall fast!!!

I see no difference at all in EV range.

As noted in Step on it! Have some fun. | PriusChat , and counter to most people's intuition, hard acceleration in EV mode may not be inefficient. This is different from what happens with lead feet with a gasoline engine.

My Estimated EV Range has increased to it's highest yet (14.7 miles) since using EV/PWR mode.
All other things being equal, driving discipline, route, using Pure EV, vs. mixed (using EV with ICE Assisting).

My EV/Gas Ratio is about 20% during the week on my 99 mile round trip commute, and significantly higher on the weekend. I don't know if the lesser ev mode used in normal Hybrid mode is counted in the ratio but I can use that mode quite a bit also.

This car is actually very fun to drive...

Doesn't Power mode just remap the accelerator and not let you have more power?

yes, so driving around the city doesn't really feel like you're driving a hybrid exp in city conditions where theres a lot of stop and go driving it picks up fairly well w/o turning on the ICE

And if you do need the ICE, it is there quickly for very fast acceleration, then shuts off when not needed.
