Does anyone know how I can get rid of that annoying data accessing message when I'm trying to browse songs on my iPod? It's really quite annoying having to wait a few seconds when I'm trying to click through songs.

I don't think there's a way around it. On mine (Model Two) it's only for the first 5 seconds or so of a new song, while it's accessing the album art and (presumably) other ID3 tag info. After those initial seconds of the song, I can browse without delay.

So we're all on the same page, it would help to identify which exact iPod model and generation you're talking about. See Identifying iPod models.

I just bought it last weekend. The iPod Classic 160GB.

I think I figured it out. Go to iPod settings and Turn Off the "Display Album Artwork" option. After I did that, I didn't get the delay anymore. Hopefully that does the trick!
