Might be a good idea to buy a few gas cans; Blitz USA closes its doors.

Unbelievable. The looters are at the gate. It's a shame that no one can accept personal responsibility and as results destroys a company and jobs. The good news is that some foreign company will take over the market. Good luck suing them!

First metal cans disappeared. Now plastic ones will be history. Idiots will have to find another way to kill themselves.

Maybe they should sell the assets to a group of former Blitz employees. The new company could start manufacturing 1, 2, and 5 gallon empty red milk cartons to sell at convenience stores and walmart.

Or better yet, the local government could "condemn" the factory and seize all the equipment for tax liabilities. Then cut a business development deal with a group of unemployed factory workers and managers to make milk cartons.

Blitz spun off the RhinoRamps division to form the F3 Group. In April 2012, the F3 Group was sold to Hopkins Manufacturing.

They are the people who made the trailer wiring accessories. I remember the Hoppy "split image transit" that was advertised in Popular Mechanics, Proular Science and Mexhanix Illustrated in the 1960's and 1970's.

So, the factory that makes the Rhino Ramps is still there, in Miami, Oklahoma.

my company went through this last year and is still going through it. we sold a product that had a manufacturing defect. the manufacturer was sued by end users until they went out of business. when that fund dried up, the wrath was turned on us and we are still paying legal fees adding up to ove r a hundred thousand to date.

I think that was a black tray used to hold either a propane tank or a 5 gallon gas can with bungee cords.

Hi Group, I've been too busy enjoying our '07 Dream' & have only come back tonight (during heavy winds & rain of Isaac) and read this about the 5 & 6 gal cans. Good thing I have 6 of various sizes for my much needed generator. Y six u may ask-well...5 for the generator & 1 small one I'm gonna save for the so-called "father" who throws gas on a lit fire !
People like him & others should be spade & neutered for OBVIOUS reasons. I'm not Sorry if I offended anyone-I'm tired of pandering to the doughnut holes of this country ! Ya blame me ? (my my, it's 11:05pm EDT no wonder I"m dead tired & easily pissed- Isaac's weather is STILL whacking us here in Fl. 36hrs so far according to local Ch 10-Take care all I promise 2 b in a better mood after taking a ride in my PRIUS :)

I'm going to assume that these lawsuits are not so much about assigning blame as they are about finding funds to take care of burnt children lying in hospitals.

The only children that these funds will probably help are those of the attorneys representing them.

I converted my generator to Propane, I keep 6 20 lb tanks on standby. There is a 7th, but it's for the BBQ Grill!
Unlike gasoline, propane will not degrade, and needs no stabilizers!

My homeowner's insurance does not allow me to store propane within 25 feet of my residence or within 25 feet of any electrical equipment.

I've had gasoline stored with Stabil in those Scepter "Military Fuel Cans" that are now used by the US Military and most all of NATO. After 4 years, I still used the gas, although many of the light VOC's had "permeated" out the walls of the container. Mixed with regualar fresh gas in a car, it worked just fine.

Now, I store gas for long term use only in the original German designed NATO jerry cans. They are coated on the inside. After 4 years, the gasoline looked clear and good as new. There was no loss of volume or the light VOC's.

It's the only way to store gasoline. I put it in the garden shed about 35 feet away from the house.

****Good thinking ! :) Let me ask you this: Does your propane generator make the same high db sounds as my gas-power 3,000watt ? I know it sounds DUMB- yet, maybe because it's NOT a gas engine it may sound as loud as my PRIUS in 'stealth' (super-golf cart) mode. It makes my wife, Karen laugh when I tell her we bought a fully loaded super Golf Cart-corny yet, worth a chuckle w/ all the B.S. we encounter every day. have a good one, DJ (11:38am edt)
