Might be a good idea to buy a few gas cans; Blitz USA closes its doors.

I truly appreciate your insights yet, 1) what's a VCO ? ; 2) Since we don;t as yet have NATO forces, here in Fl (though on most Sat. nites we should), where does one procure such 'ordinance' ? ****I do not hold on to ANY GAS above the 2 gal can (lawnmower) after Hurricane season-That's approx Nov 31st here***just my 2 cents. Said it before, no country enables frivolous lawsuits like America - this is one of the many benefits.

Can we just pass some tort laws to stop the abuse to our legal system?

i have a 12k onan propane gen w/honda 2 cyl. ice. very quiet, but i suspect more due to the extreme muffler than the propane combustion.

Hi bisco, love your comeback. excuse the off subject matter yet, Since I've been a "Diehard" b-4 it became "Red Sox Nation" --I loved that trade ! I read both the Herald & FREE Globe.com daily for info & amusement & i comment to stir things up on occasion. What's your take ? Why is Alsivez SUSPENDED ?? i haven't found anything on that tidbit. Oh, am i the only 1 that dislikes the NESN DIRECTOR WHO KEEPS PRESSING THE WRONG camera buttons when a Sox player hits a HR etc. ???!! I mean who cares to see the opposing Mg. make a puss ! Enjoy your '12 ! I'm frustrated because we have a lot of flooding down here so we r still homebound. Both because of flooding & doughnut- hole-drivers ! Take care, DJ

    VOC's are "volitile organic compounds."

While the original "snap lid" NATO jerry cans can with the good coated lining can be purchased, Harbor Freight still sells the Midwest can car version for about $40.

    5 Gallon Jerry Can

I've bought them at the local store. With thier widely available 20% off coupon, they can be had for less than $35 tax included.

Bisco-- How long does your propane last per tank and at what cost ?? My generator has a 3 gal. capacity & has proven to last almost exactly 10 hrs/3gal full up. I learned to be factual during hurricane Wilma's 19 days of blackout. Dig this-the local gas stations were selling reg @ $2.87 and THAT was considered gouging then (2005 for those who didn't have to live thru that. ) Oh, last ck on gasbuddy.com $3.79 as of yesterday, or was it Sat ? All i know "Pri" is filled & so far hasn't been touched by any UFOs. Thank God. :)

I made the disk that the first reviewer said. I use a cheap $2 Walmart long tapered Blitz transmission funnel, which opens the "flap" door for the fuel nozzle to pour it easily into the car's gas tank. Forget the C.A.R.B. spout. I just use the Blitz funnel to transfer it to a one ot two gallon gas can for the lawnmower.

i like the trade as well, should have sent lackey and dice k packing with them. gonna take a very smart gm to rebuild this team, i hope ben is upto it! don't know about acevez, it's all very hush hush, like when they dumped d-low or cabrera, usually the owners don't like them. he was a great pitcher until they threw him into the fire of closing. nesn is an amature operation at best. not what you would expect for the kind of money they pull in. all the best with isaac. my brother is in bonita springs and says they haven't had it too bad yet.

i have 2 100# tanks and they are good for 80%. so 160 gallons (if the emergency happens when they are full, i also run a gas fireplace and clothes dryer in winter) and the unit runs around a gallon/hr. so 6-7 days. we got hit late last august with whatever hurricane it was and q4-5 days we were good. i've had it for 8 years and was wondering if it was worth the cost. but we used it twice last year and made it all worthwhile. especially since we are on a well. i only wish power made the cable/internet stay up!

Forgive my nievity, "2 100...oh POUND, now i gotcha Lol. U have those big storage tanks i see in rural areas I imagine. I have 'natural gas' for my dryer/stove/HotWater as well saves a lot YET, I'm not afraid to admit I also have 4 Solar Clothes Dryers in the back yd. ! :) :) Can't be used during storms yet, they save me the 330watts it takes to power the reg. gas dryer and the parts for the Solar Buddys can be gotten at most WallyMarts= just shop in housewares for 100-200 yds of clothesline & Wooden Clothespins ! (u must have seen that coming Lol) I started that sometime p.i.a. adventure 8 yrs ago this June=it choppd my natural gas bill by 66% so much so that the local gas co. sent out a 'spy' TO CK IF THE METER WAS TAMPERED WITH. lol Hey, it was good for my Italian grandmother & Mom-it's the only way I have found to combat all the BOGUS price increases---hell (12:46pm) another round of thunder & monsoon rain just started) I'm shuttin down-- Lackey, I hope will come thru--his trade wprth must be $0 until he pitches at least Little League and gets some outs--hey THE SOX have an afternoon game today--I'm going to mlb.com on my Roku to watch. Take Care, DJ

How does the solar drying works in high-humidity Florida climate? I would not expect it to perform as good as, for example, in Arizona.

********ALEX I'm glad you asked that GREAT QUESTION ! (a) IS: FREAKIN' GREAT !!!! Look it's 3:35pmEDT as i type this. The SUN is blazing outside all the while we're getting FLOOD WARNINGs from empending Heavy rainbands from Mr. Hayes(Isaac). I chose to hang the clothes (as the wind is blowing East to West in my backyard) instead of thow themin the gas-dryer WHY ? because from experience the heavy towels as well as T-shirts will bake in a 1/2 hr. Look, I may sound a little nuts--BUT, SAVING $$$ is Y I bought my PRIUS ! rIGHT NOW i'M LOOKING OUT MY DEN WINDOWS AS THE SUN (damn caps button, sorry i ain't yellin' as my Mom taught me better) as i was typing...as the SUN is shining right THRU the clothes. Living in AZ should mean you HAVE LOTS of SUNSHINE. I'd be living THERE 'cept those Tarantellas & thingys w/ the rear-end stinger give the creeps so badly--I can't even say their names, let alone type them :( :(. ***About my '07 PRIUS: for 2 days 'she' sat in the driveway, in the middle of monsoonal rains-alone & motionless as my heart yearned to take her for a spin. At High Noon, after siting in the SUN I opend all 4 doors to air her out then took her for a 2.5mi spin to recharge the battery. Ran smooth & stealthy. And that was w/ a 110lb. generator i did NOT have to use in the back-right over the trunk. 34 day after 'adapting' her the love affair continues.
It's now 3:49PM-SUN still doing my drying for me. I just keep my eye on the sky AND if it should rain . . .it only counts as an EXTRA rince...Take 2. LOL take care, DJ

PS ALEX--U have nothing to lose: Go to any hardware store or Walmart--you'd need 2 Hook Screws; 50-100yds of genuine CLOTHESLINE-cheep rope will rot fast; Wooden clothespins from the Dollar Store will do--get the long kind. Cheep plastic will last a shor time b-4 they melt. Then watch your drying bill decrease ! If the wife says the clothes come out stiff--THROW them in the reg. dryer for no more than 5min--tOWELS & OTHER WILL FLUFF UP.
Look, I'm former jock who rocks when it comes to SAVING $ & beating BIG BUSINESS out of profits.

***In your case then u leave the clothes in the dryer at least 3 Extra min to "thaw" :)

I move my umbrella line indoors during winter, and hang up near the pellet stove. Free humidity is how I look at that, plus, free drying since I'm running the pellet anyway. I've been unlucky with the line outdoors lately, been raining every day I've done laundry.
