I believe that the odometer MPG applies to "when the hybrid engine is started." I turn the car on, and the odometer MPG is at 0.0

I flip to "Trip A", and reset it. Now the Trip A MPG is 0.

Then I pull out of the garage, go down the highway. After about 5 minutes I look at the display:

    Odometer MPG: 35
    Trip A MPG: 53

That's...quite the difference. What's going on?

You and/or your car are living in at least two alternate universes.

An alternate explanation may be that there was some significant time lag between the time you started the car and the time you tripped the A trip meter.

No, I literally did exactly as I said in the first post. I reset both, so both were at 0, then started the drive...

Was the ICE already running when you reset Trip A?

I notice a difference also, mine was just a few MPGs off. I hope someone can help!

No one answered this, but I'll just mention it anyway, just in case--even if you aren't moving, the ICE running uses gasoline. If you don't reset the trip meter before the ICE starts, the mpg will be different. Don't know that this is your issue necessarily, but seems like a good one to rule out.
