    Hello,

Wife got a job with a round trip of 90 miles a day 5 days a week and with her family living 32 miles away we are looking at 1900-2100 miles a month. That prius is looking real good right now next to the 2013 Ford Edge Sport. Test drove the prius four, its actually in the parking lot right now, and test drove the lexus ct200h. Ive liked the CT200h since its came out but it was real lack luster once you got it out and about. Wife is liking the Prius more. Thinks its more quite, has more room, softer seats, better UI/HUD/Tech, and.... she likes the look of it. So, I think we are going to buy the Prius 4, It has the solar roof, ipod cable, clear paint protection, carpet mats, leagal window tint and toyoguard elite. MSRP is 34,730.

What can we expect to pay for this vehicle? Any idea of the invoice price? I'm wanting to pay invoice. I know i just bought the 2013 edge about 2-3 months ago and we payed invoice for it plus a few 500-1000$ incentives ford was offering.

We're all wanting to pay invoice, but that most likely isn't going to happen. The dealers know that with gas prices the way they are, they can get quite a bit more than invoice on the Prius family. I purchased my 2012 Prius four last month for $500 over invoice, but still, the OTD price still ended up being 31K+ (I also got the Sunroof Premium Package, or whatever they call it, and it had tinted windows, mud guards, body molding, mats, etc). Last month was a good month because they were also offering 0% @ 36 mo.

At any rate, I can say that I'm having more fun in this vehicle than I've ever had. I've owned vehicles before that didn't make a difference in MPG whether I drove 40, or 80 mph. The Prius rewards you for every conservative skill you use when driving. I am still on my first tank of fuel from the dealer, and I plan on getting in to the 600 club on the first tank. I have even had one 19 mile trip where I got 81.4 mpg. It's exciting to look at the display every time I turn off the vehicle. I have no doubt that I'll reach 600 miles on my first tank. I am already thinking of what I can do to reach 700 on my next tank.

Good luck on your purchase, and welcome to the group.

try truecar.com. pricing depends on where you live. if you live in california (more so socal), then you got more options .you can get or get close to invoice. like texas said, taxes are going add a big bump to the price. dont kill yourself trying get the lowest price possible. sometimes you pay a little more for quality of service (service doesnt end after you sign your buy contract). buy at a good price and then forget about it and enjoy the car.

Very similar experience...I considered the Lexus CT200h and even test drove one, only to conclude that the car was smaller, less comfortable, gas mileage not quite as good AND its more expensive! It does look good from the outside and I really wanted to like it but when I sat in it, then went back to my Prius, I was amazed at the difference!

I bought my Prius IV a month ago. I shopped online, comparing three Toyota dealers in the area. I was determined to get exactly the options and color combination I wanted this time. First time out, I bought the last one on the lot because I didn't want to wait. My approach this time was to get the internet price, which turned out to be slightly under invoice AND I took advantage of 0% financing. I'm in the DC area where there are LOTS of Prius (Prii?) so pricing is maybe more competitive among local dealers. I have a 40 mile round trip commute, about half highway, half city, and average 50 mpg. This is my 2nd Prius and I love it even more than my 1st one!

Good luck with your purchase and enjoy the car!

Headbasha, don't know of you've purchased yet but I just bought a 2012 Model Four, and my first offer was $500 below invoice and they took it. Plus I got the 0% for 36 months from Toyota financial.

Your experience may be different depending on where you live (I am from NE Ohio).
