Is the 2013 model launching in the next few months?

The JDM does have a leather steering wheel for the Aqua (Prius C) you can get them in several colors and there is a guy on Ebay who is shipping JDM parts. They are not cheap - but that is the reason this car costs less than a lexus. You pay extra for these little perks - but I have found it usually is still cheaper to buy a cheap car and upgrade what you dont like. If you spend a lot of time in your car you may also want to consider doing some sound deadening - the Prius C has terrible road noise and it gets annoying pretty fast.

I don't see this JMD leather steering wheel in a future purchase. $400.00 I might bite.
$700.00 not happening plus $98.00 shipping...hahahahaha!
They are nice, but wow! Wow! WOW! eh? comical in price

I agree - this is why the Prius C is an economy hybrid, people should not expect a CT200h for the price of a Prius C. I am more than happy with my factory steering wheel - but I am super satisfied with the acoustical improvements of my sound deadening efforts - Luxury silence, at economy price! If the wheel is going to give the OP the taste of luxury he needs though, $700 is much less than buying a Lexus.

 

Agreed, not sure I would compare it to a Lexus. My Tacoma 4x4 has an OEM leather wheel, none the less, what sound deadening did you do? how easy was it to do? I am interested in hearing about this.

 

Ok - so maybe Lexus is a stretch - , but if the steering wheel is this guy biggest issue then he has options to change it. In an effort not to hijack this post I will post a link to my thread with pics for updates about the sound deadener - I used FatMat, and its great but if I did it over again I would have done some things differently.

CVT makes the car behave like a jet engine. It revs up the engine upon take-off and the rpm stays there until the cruising speed.

Prius doesn't have a traditional mechanical CVT. It has power sharing transmission (PST) because the power from both powertrains goes though a planetary gear set without shifting a single gear. The reverse gear is done by simply spinning the electric motor backward. Torque output gets multiplied by the use of electricity. It behaves similar to CVT but it actually is not.

That is a real dream! After all the recalls, we might see lithium-ion batteries in 5 years. I am wishing for the addition of or replacement of the hybrid battery with a super-capacitor, like their TS030 FIA World Challenge hybrid race car. See:
