    Plus, geography produces a natural limit on how much help can be gained from elevation change, but there is no real distance limit to those who have the right skills. I was expecting the best flatlanders to already own this thread by now.

    Over at CONTEST ! How far can you go on ONE gallon ?, Ufourya just posted 98.7. We should pull him into this thread too.

    Avg. MPH dropped quite a bit once I left the highway, so I could get a photo.

    That's awesome! What was your average per mile elevation drop?

    Thanks, bru.

    I'm not sure how accurate the dollar summary is but according to it I should be at 109mpg with that run. It brought my tank average to 78.8mpg and 152miles. Then I had to race away to pick up my girlfriend at work. LOL

    If all of us could figure out what our actual MPG was we could do sort of a bonus for every MPG over 100 but I think it is only the 2012's that can do that.

    Aye, I wish the earlier models had this feature but since they don't I don't think bonus points should be awarded. In the case of a tie between two 2012s then we could use that info. Or in the event someone got 120mpg over 62 miles and the other person got 110miles over 62.5miles.

    It is about a 2400 ft drop. ~170 ft per mile. This was during a test drive, when I brought it back to the dealer I had 24 miles and it was still 99.9. I showed it to the sales guy and he was like :eek:.

    Actual was 107.4

    This was round trip, so no elevation change.

    I would love to see a video of how you drive in order to get 107.4 mpg. Or, anything close to 99.9 mpg for a distance. If there was even one little tip that each of us could use, that would be great. Also, it would be nice to hear your narrative along with it, so that we can understand your thought process.

    This is really open to anyone who would like to contribute!

    I'm actually open to doing some vids and will look into how to do them best. I think F8L is doing the same.

    As for this specific run, things have to be pretty ideal for this to happen...low/no traffic, a proper course, a pretty full battery, a warm engine. FWIW, I essentially did the same course with a little bit colder engine and got about 15 mpg's less.

    Did I hear my name mentioned? I was close with my gallon thread over in the c forum, so I thought why not try again. No elevation change. I was teetering on the brink as MPGs dipped into the low 99, high 98 area on occasion. I had to apply myself to raise the number. A cop stopped me as well to inquire why so slow at 3 a.m.. I 'splained how there is this sitie called Prius Chat and showed him my past record screen and my current 99.9., etc. He asked if he was screwing up my session. The ICE began to charge the battery, so well, yeah, he was. Left me alone and said 'good luck'.

    Haha, that's hilarious. I've wondered about that before, glad it happened to someone else before it happened to me. :)

    And great work on the performance! I will get you up on the list when I get to a computer.

    Amazing! :eek::love:(y) :D
    BTW how does that "Eco" score thingy work on the Prius c? :confused:
    Is there some sort of tutorial for it that I can get to online? :whistle:
    Thanks. :)

    The eco thingy scores the start from the time you press the accelerator until you first lift off it.
    You can't improve it during the 'run' . The cruise portion scores how you manage the FE during the run until you come to a complete stop. The cruise portion will change during the run. Stop scores the stop only when you come to a complete stop. The stop completes the run and the subsequent acceleration starrts a new scoring run.

    Although there are those who advocate a brisk acceleration rather than a very gradual and rather slow one, the score indicates that the latter is preferable (as far as scoring goes). Obviously, flooring it, staying in the power section and seeing if the top speed really is 105 will tend to score a bit lower in the cruise section than staying in the more efficient areas in the EV and ICE modes. A looong coast, a gradual regen, and hardly any friction braking returns a higher stop score.

    I don't pay a lot of attention to the thingy yet. I have not mastered the nuances or even figured out exactly how to score 100. But now that you've brought it up, perhaps I should.

    I am unaware of any tutorial and the manual is not particularly helpful in this regard.

    Can you tell us the starting and stopping points (lattitude/longititude/elevation) of your trip? :)
    What was your top speed? 75? 85? :cool:
    It took less than 5 minutes to do - didn't it? ;)
    Yeehaa! At that speed, it must have super fun to do! :D

    New to this thread.
    My best over 100 mpg (42.5km/L) record among my stock of pictures is as follows;
    [IMG]
    It is 103.5 mpg (44.0 km/L) for 233.1 miles (375.0 km) which is round trip (no elev change).

    Anyway,
    JP folks did over 100 mpg on a single tank record.
    One of them is as follows;
    [IMG]
    It is 108.9 mpg (46.3 km/L) for 1279.9 miles (2059.4 km) which is refilled at the same gas station (no elev change).
