    Note
i do not know if all photos will show right now as photobucket is acting funny

kind of an experiment of making a rear bumper protector with plastidip as i have a few cans here laying around

I did a quick test one a few days back about the size of the toyota bumper protector and it seemed ok
but thought id change it up a bit, so i peeled it off and started again

wanted to go bigger this time
    [IMG]

    spryed with plastidip
    [IMG]

peel the tape off immediately after you spray! before the dip dries, to get clean lines
    [IMG]

    some overspray
    [IMG]

dont worry , it will wipe right off with a cloth

its drying as i post this.

in a bit ill go out and see what it looks like with the hatch down

I'd rather just buy the OEM rear bumper protector. Only $58.50 shipped on eBay.

I found on line a bumper protector from zeta for my prius C. There price was about half price of everyone else. In the instructions it say find the middle of the bumper peel the tape and stick. I am having problems determining the middle of the bumper. Anyone got any ideas?
    Thanks.

the whole bumper is protected instead of just the middle, and i can remove/ change it at anytime
    it looks good too.
anyone i showed it to told me they thought it was like that from the factory, didnt think that I made it

Not the point in most "mod" cases. The "pleasure" is in coming up with the idea and doing it himself.

If I had the coordination to do such a project without making a royal mess of it, I would totally go in for the full bumper protection. Barring that, I would buy the OEM one except that I think the price is way too high. I'd pay up to 30 bucks for the rear bumper protector, but 75? No way. Gcoop, if you're ever in Vegas and happen to have your PlastiDip kit with you... ;-)

$58.50 seems to be the cheapest OEM one at the moment (eBay). Still pretty spendy, but I decided to spring for it. Pretty sure I saw an aftermarket one for around $30 while Googling. Maybe something to look into if you want...

My car had the bumper guard on it when I got it. Wowever I think this looks great, protects more of the bumper, shows individuality and is the real point of doing your own mods. Anyone can just buy parts and install.

Use HB Latch as reference. Then I used painters tape for reference marks.
