What are examples of mixed messages you saying we are getting from GM?

And remember, companies tell us what they want, not what you want. So not saying something is not the same as sending a mixed message. I don't think GM is sending mixed messages, it just saying little compared to what they did during the initial volt roll out.

As I see it GM is being more forthcoming than others. We know two production vehicles are scheduled (ELR 2014, Cruze PHEV 2014) What is Totyota telling us will be release in 2014? Ford? Honda? Chrysler ? How is Toyota leveraging the PHV? How is ford leveraging C-MAX?

I get that the Volt is the best PHEV in the world so its easy to want to hold GM to a higher standard. Maybe they are not as open as you want, but it seems to me they are still being more open than others.

Relevant quote in a recent AP article

So in terms of intangibles, they are saying is already a success. To those of us that drive one, we already knew that, just for a different reason.

yeah though I teach this stuff I don't really get/like GW on the sheets. I should mention that almost all the goodwill on any balance sheets is from acquisitions (difference between share value and book value) as a company cannot charge stuff against goodwill, it is still a crazy concept. Even more so that it made it through reorg with that on the balance sheet.

GW is a bit of black magic but let's take a look at tech companies and the difference between book value and share value. In the internet heyday a company with 20 engineers would command $5m per engineer above their book value, we are currently seeing a similar valuation. So how many engineers did GM retain through the bankruptcy? more than 6000?

"GM didn't have to build this car, GM had to build this car"

Corny Government Motors commercial, that is supposed to generate a "patriotic image" of the company.

How funny, it didn't turn out that way.

    John,

I can say that both the speed and direction is zero.

Maybe its time to elevate the issues to the district rep, or even higher. Did the dealer offer you a loaner car while your Volt sits in the shop?

    So its al bull.

The volt is like any other car when designed

It cost a lot and ita a special car to.

Now with the low numbers, but when they have gen 2 and 3 they will start making money.

Ita again trying to blowup a story...

One wonders how many Camaros can be sold for each Volt sold...... interesting.
