Anyone know of any good options for a center armrest cover? I rest my elbow in the same spot all the time and am starting to wear away the material and would love to cover it up. I did the same thing in my last vehicle but the center console was a little easier to come up a solution for than this one.

    Thanks!

You could try taking it to an auto upholstery shop. They could easily remove the fabric and replace it with a rubberized material that might match your dash color. Let us know if you do it since I'm sure a few of us would be interested in doing the same.

I hate the fabric on my armrest...it feels super cheap and always looks dirty due to it being black and everything hanging onto the fabric. My mom has katzkin leather in her Prius and I have been thinking about trying to get just the armrest piece.

I was just looking at mine, and realized the same issue. I've had the car less than a month, and I've already worn a spot into the armrest cheap material. I have a III.

Does the IV or V have a non-material armrest? Could you feasibly order a replacement armrest from one of those models, and install it?

Any other after-market options out there? Ugggh, I hate the fabric in this car the longer I own it. So cheap, every little hair and fuzzy sticks to it - now I am keeping a roller in the damn car :( I especially hate the fabric on the door panels and the armrest the most. Would love to get rid of those.

I looked at the PC Shop and did not find center console covers, at least not for the 2010. Are they listed under the 2012 or possibly the v?

I'd say to check with your local Toyota Dealership. I'm not sure how much they would charge, but I just had them do my side panels from that cloth material to leather. Cost me $325 (including tax and labor) for all 4 doors.

Thats looks like a decent solution, but man is that expensive for what it is.

Sounds like something that could be easily made if someone knew what they were doing. Might have to look into that.

I use a folded up (black) blanket that zips up into a small square. Fits fairly well it raise and cushions my elbow up higher and keeps the original armrest clean with no wear. Plus you can use it at Football/Baseball games or emergencies.

Do you put this over the armrest? If so does that interfere with it closing and sliding? Or do you just sit it on top like a pillow. I've been considering just getting a small piece of fabric (ie. small blanket or hand towel) and just sitting on mine.

Just like a pillow for quick removal for any sports game to stay warm! Works for me and no more sore elbow on long trips.

Does anyone know how to remove the armrest cover?
There's 4 well-hidden screws that hold the black, sliding mech from the grey plastic, but removing them got me no closer to pulling apart the cover.
Like OP I'm trying to replace the cover.

You can order leather armrest cover from Toyota. It can be changed by lifting old one up (with force) and install new one by pressing down.
It was about 180 € in Finland!
