i noticed that you took off your badges. Have you considered wrapping white portion of the hatch black? i wonder how it will look with the sb valenti and the black hatch.

I had it wrapped matte black before, and I didn't like the look of it, I'm putting on my badges back soon, just adding some glossifier on top of the plastidip :)

Today I got some more LED bulbs. Two white bright ones for reverse which looks great. Got two amber ones for the rear sigal lights. However I haven't gotten my relay thingie yet for the hyper flashing. My concern is I wonder if the bulbs aren't working. I tried plugging them both in one side, both poles tried. When I hit the flasher on that side I get the hyper flashing front light and nada on the new bulb. Just off. I swapped the poles, tried the other bulb. Still nada. Does the bulb need the relay in order to work at all? Or do I have two DOA bulbs?? Also of note, when I put on the hazard lights, the three working original bulbs blink at correct speed. Just isn't what I expected. Should I wait and try again after the relay comes or should I assume I got two duds?

Put one of the questioned blinker LED's into the reverse light socket to test it. Even though they're different colors, they are both 7440's, so it'll work as a quick test of functionality.

Thank you dude. lol. Good thinking. I did that and sure enough it's glowing bright amber on reverse. Soooo....hmmmm.....hopefully the LED will work fine in the signal socket once the relay goes in? Cause Fedex just delivered the relay 5 mins ago.

Are you going to get the holes filled in or just leaving them like that? I removed all my badges, but I dont like the big empty holes. I checked with one body shop, but they were going to just going to bondo it. I've been reading that getting it welded is better so I asked about it, but he didnt have any welders, they preferred to bondo it so I disregarded their quote. Still looking for someone else that can weld it, I dont mind paying for it, but I want it to look like new and I prefer to get something thats permanent, not something I will have to worry about in a year or two (bondo).

The LED bulbs should still work without the LED flasher relay.

The fenders are getting welded but the rear hatch is plastic so it can't be welded.

Any suggestion as to why they aren't working in the signal slot then? I swapped back in the OEM bulb and it's working fine. And the LED is working fine in the reverse light socket. Confused!

Yea, thats one thing he told me. They wouldn't have any choice on the lid deck since it was plastic. Im fine with that since there really isnt any work around for that, but not for the fenders that are metal.
I guess I need to keep getting quotes on body shops and wait for one that will weld them. thanks

btw, does anyone know how to get that deck lid off? I dont see any screws on the inside of the hatch on where it can be removed or take apart.

It could have been something as simple as the metal tabs on the LED bulb wasn't making contact inside the socket. I would move the thin metal wires on the bulbs & Try it again

Didn't know the fender badge had pins! I thought they were just stick-on badges

i finally got my trd springs on. they had been sitting in my garage since may. i planned to do it myself. but the more that i researched, the more it made sense to have someone else install them. the guy even warned against the loaner spring compressor from autozone. i remember taking over 6hrs to install the tanabe stb.
