The point is that the low-beam lights do not blind an oncoming motorist. When you switch to high beam, the light goes above the cut-off point you see with the low beam projectors. Now you know.

I used to live in Louisville many years ago (Grinstead Drive). Nice city.

Gotcha - thanks so much! Louisville is not too shabby. Now Lexington, KY - there's a city I'm fond of. :p

My dad actually got a prescription for dark window tint, sensitivity to sunlight runs in the family starting with his mom.. (Thats as far back as i know) I will prob do the same thing. I have already talked to my eye Dr about the light sensitivity and the glare, so its all charted. Just haven't asked about the script yet. You may want to try contacting an eye doctor and see if they can do this sort of thing for you, again not sure of the laws etc with that. So you can invest your future ticket savings money into an eye Dr apt and maybe save you some tickets in the future! That is of course if you have trouble driving and seeing in the sunlight due to extreme glare or whatever.. :) Give it a go!

Just to be clear, the turn signal and reverse lights are the same, 194?

No...the turn signal and backup light are 7440 bulbs...I ended up, at this time, not replacing these two sets of bulbs for two reasons:

1.) The LED versions are just not as bright as the OEM. Not yet anyway...
2.) Had all kinds of heat issues with the resistor that mitigates the rapid flash issue with the LED bulb....I ordered the replacement turn signal relay for the LED bulbs, but could not find were the orignal relay was in the C....It is in the fuse box on the liftback...but not on the C..

    Hope that helps.

Resistor even for the reverse light? Hmmm wasn't like that on my Jeep, just brake and signals because of the flashing, that stinks then. Wish they had this bulb info in the manual instead of just a letter. Thanks!
*edit* Forgot to ask too, I'm guessing the regular non-LED taillight is also 7440 then?

Sorry..no resistor needed for backup light..just turn signal...The red tailights are 7440 too...except for the LED brake lights...

Thanks for your help, the simple led stuff has been ordered. Wish our DRL's weren't also the high beams so we could LED them as well, hate that tired old yellow light look.

Need help. How do I get the license plate light covers off? I want to replace the lights and make sure I don't break any tabs. Thanks for any help guys. Pictures and/or video would be great.

I actually removed the cover panel on the hatch and then you can reach up from the inside and pop them out...

I believe it's a Federal law that does not allow headlight modification.

Which LED's did you try for the tail lights? Just put in some Putcos off of amazon and like 'em, they're the same, or perhaps a tiny bit brighter than stock, but they're definitely more red. The reverse lights I'm iffy on because I forgot to compare stock bulbs to the LEDs and I've been too lazy to put a stock bulb back in to see.

    Here's the red LED tails.
Here's the white LED reverse lights.

If I decide I don't like the reverse I have, I might go with these but they're expensive IMO. Not really sure how much more light those would be anyway.
TBH I'm not a fan of the reflector the backup light has. With a larger, but similar, one to the ones I already purchased on my Jeep, they were REALLY bright, perhaps due to the reflectors on the aftermarket tails I had on her.

So the xenon supply kits don't have plug ends that connect to the factory wiring?

Could you supply the maker of your interior dome/cargo leds? Putco? I am looking to change to led as a way to make up for the overall lack of interior lighting supplied by oem. Thanks.

Forget Putco, they're over priced and mid quality
