Prox - iOS 4, 5, or 6? 4 would do BT, 5 would not (unless you had tethering plans), and 6 I'm hearing both yes and no.

    Bingo!

Worth the extra $30 a month on the phone as it now works seamlessly in the car via Bluetooth.

Thanks to this forum I was able to get my wife's iPhone to work wirelessly via tethering to our basic PIP. Toyota customer support didn't make that suggestion when I called to complain about it after picking the car up, but you guys helped when they were unable to. I've also noticed it doesn't require confirming that I want to connect to the internet each time as opposed to the USB method. BTW- this is on a 4s with iOS 6, no issues so far. Luckily her employer pays for the tethering so the "fix" isn't costing us anything additional. :)

I can't get my phone to connect to the internet without connecting with a USB cord. Is this possible? I've tried everything! Please help.

You must be able to turn on Personal Hotspot in your network settings. In the US, this depends on your carrier and selected data plan, unless you're using an iPhone with T-Mobile.
