If I were you, I would charge your original battery completely using a battery charger/tender/desulfator and measure the voltage after leaving it overnight. Based on your driving pattern, I think your original battery will still be good for at least another year if not more.

It would be terrific if you have a use for it.

So I went Into the dealership with a list off all the services I wanted done...I was told that the ATF fluid is intended to last the life of the car, and that it was still good and didn't need to be replaced. My total service came out to $407, so I ended up kind of frustrated because I needed $500 to use a $100 off coupon. Not totally discouraged, I asked for a quote on the ATF drain and fill, and she quoted me $290. I said no. It would allow me to use the coupon for $100 off, but then I would be spending almost $600. Is this a job that I could do myself for under $190? $290 seems absurd to me. I would need to purchase some equipment, and doing so would probably set me on the path of DIY...any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

For shits and giggles, I called another dealership and they quoted me at 97.54 for a transmission drain and fill...includes parts and labor. What gives?? Larger service department?

Use the search function. There are multiple threads by Patrick et al on transaxle oil change (among many other DIYs). Some even have pictures to identify what is what.

Just baffling that one dealership quotes the service at $290, and the other one is $200 less. I guess I'll have to drive a little bit further to get that service done. After I get the ATF drain and fill, I will have pretty much finished all items that were recommended by Patrick earlier....

Any other stuff I should be considering for a 130K/5 year old car?

One dealer does not want to do the service, and prices it so they never will.

The dealer that was charging $290 was probably confusing the Prius with other Toyota models with automatic transmissions. $290 is probably for a flush and fill using a lot more than 4 quarts of fluid and half an hour of labor, but $290 still seems expensive for a full flush and fill. If the dealer doesn't know what the Prius needs you need to find another dealer, or at least another service writer at that dealership.
