Has anyone found a roof rack that will fit the C yet? Ski season is approaching and I will be driving 3+ hours one day each week for racing and would love to take the C instead of the Tundra (the gas savings alone will pay for the rack in one season!).

    Thanks!

Check with a dealer about using the rain gutters. I haven't tried on my rack yet. Thule doesn't have any fit suggestions on their website :-( Luckily I mostly use it for bikes and kayaks. Too cold to kayak, have a rear rack for bikes. Hopefully they come out with stuff soon.

No rack news yet. Due to the design of the roof and doors on the Prius C, there are no removable mount racks available. (YET, I have my fingers crossed) The options are to 1. Install a hitch rack or 2. Drill into the roof of your Prius C. If you choose option 2 make sure that the shop that you choose to do the work will warranty any work that they do as well as cover any warranty that drilling into your roof will void from Toyota. I hope that someone offers a rack before next summer.

I have not but the hitch installed and works flawlessly, plus it hasn't hurt fuel economy. Surely there is an adapter for 2'' receivers you can use. Unless unles your skis are super long. IDK i live in FL, but I've seen people to similar with water skis.

I have the Rhino rack ordered from autoanything.com

I paid $259 using one of their 15% off codes.

It should arrive later this week, I will let you know how the install goes.

It may not list the C on their site, but if you call they can get the right parts worked out for you.

Fits perfect, pictures soon to follow. Thule and Yakima dropped the ball on this one!

It took about an hour to "build" the racks and towers and only about 15-20 minutes to install them. The box pictured lowered the MPG's about 4-6 per gallon. I'll let you know how the racks without the box effect MPG's.

Can this roof rack thing clamp skis across the roof? without a box? Do you guys think this would even work with the sunroof option?

Empty rack only lowered 1-2 MPG, if even that.

You could clamp skis to this roof rack thing, but only hillbillies that ski in jeans do such things. You would need to purchase a ski rack option from Yakima or Thule. I have the sunroof option and as you can see in the picture, there is more than enough clearance.

Can you get a wind deflector for that rack?

Rhino doesn't sell one, but I am sure you could rig up a Thule, Yakima or Inno wind fairing.

It would be fun to paint the box to match the car. I wonder what a paint store would charge to mix the color? You can do decent work (as long as it is only a cargo box) using a foam brush.

Would you happen to have a link to the place you bought this from.

Ho and about skis, don't thay fit inside the car? I know it is possable to fit an 8 foot surfboard in a PC. But with rear seats down it almost touches the dash and misses the gear shift if you angle it. Skis then should be "easy" with only two people in the car.

Very Nice Work! Thanks for the info! To the tower clamps threaten the body or paint at all? Do the tower clams do anything to the weather stripping? I'm definitely interested in the roof rack and like the fact that it can be easily installed and uninstalled.

The clamps have a rubber backing to them, as far as I can tell they have not affected anything on the car. The weather stripping just squishes around them, no water leaks or anything, I live in Washington state so it has been in the rain!

So how has the rhino rack faired so far? I actually emailed rhino rack to ask them about it this weekend and they said they didn't have a supported system - it seems like this company found something that works though. Has it remained stable? Still all good?

I am with everyone else. I would love to be able to throw the snowboards on the roof rather than carry them inside this season - I'm not even sure they would fit inside.

I also had the Rhino Rack, but ended up sending it back. The rear clamps kept popping off the door frame. The guys at RR were great and helped me try to troubleshoot it, but in the end it just wouldn't hold and. I ended up going with a permanent install with a Thule system.
