I don't think they can be shimmed. The lights have two mounts that slip into openings in the bumper cover on one side and another mount on the other side that a screw goes thru and holds the light in place. The openings are tight so there is no room for shimming, plus the mounts are on the sides of the lights, not on top or bottom so aim can only be adjusted side to side. I will get a picture and upload soon.

Which fog light did u get? The projector fogs for example don't have a way to adjust them where as the OEM fog light will have a screw to aim & make adjustments.

Mine is not a projector lamp.

Here is the one I got:

06-08 TOYOTA YARIS 4DR BUMPER JDM YELLOW FOG LIGHTS w/SWITCH+BULBS LEFT+RIGHT | eBay

I stole a picture from one of your posts in this thread. Yours seem to have 4 mounts but mine had only three, same as the lights in the other picture I also stole from a post on this thread!

Come to think of it, I don't recall seeing any adjustment screws as the ones in some other listings show. I will look tonight.

There's an adjustment wheel/gear mechanism on the back of the foglights that change the angle of the reflector, not the bulb itself.

What helped me was to shine the fogs on the inside surface of my garage door, which was about 18 inches away from the foglights. Then adjust the cutoff to a point that is about horizontal with the center of the foglights, or slightly below.

I was surprised that there was actually a cutoff with the fogligts because they aren't projectors. However, it seems that the reflectors have a "cutout" on the top half that seems to make the cutoff pattern when beamed onto something relatively near. The bottom of the reflector does seem to bounce light up over the cutoff in actual use though, so the "cutoff" isn't as good as the one on a projector lens. Hope this helps.

What is the difference between the 2 door Yaris fog lights and the 4 door Yaris fog lights? The 2 door ones look like they have a screwdriver adjustment on the rear but the 4 door lights look like there is nothing to adjust.

Great. That is how mine is too so at least now I know I do not have the right and left lights mixed up (otherwise the "cutoffs" would be on the bottom). It is a relief to know I don't have to take the bumper off again! I just hope my lights are adjustable.

I think maybe the light bezel is different between 4dr and 2dr but we don't use that for Prius. Hopefully the adjustment screw will be there on the one I got (which is for a 4dr). In all my research the only thing that I found to be materially different for our purpose was the switch. I remember somewhere I had read that early Yaris kits had the correct switch to match Prius so I ordered a kit for 06-08 year Yaris and the switch was in fact the right one.

Hopefully ull have the type with the adjustment screw........if not then you will have to either wedge something in between the bumper & the bottom tabs on the fog lights or use a dermal to take some material off of the upper tabs so that it will allow the beam to go down.

The tabs are on the sides, not on top and bottom so i doubt wedging something there, or dermaling the tabs will do any good. If there is no screw then my best bet would probably be to either get another set, or fabricate a bracket or something for the light sit on so it can be adjusted. Lets just hope it has the screw. Didn't get the chance to check when I got home tonight so I will look tomorrow.

I know they are on the side.......but if u were to remove some material from the 2 upper side tabs, this will alter the angle at which the light is pointed. It's just a suggestion.......U've got nothing else to lose other than an hr of ur time. It beats buying another set.

Look for a serrrated "wheel" in the back of the housing, mine was silver. Below that, there is a hole that is meant to be accessed from the bottom of the foglight that you insert a large phillips head screwdriver in and turn the adjustment wheel. So the head of the screwdriver engages the adjustment wheel at a right angle like a worm gear and cog.

I found that all hard to do while laying on my back under the front end of the car, so I just felt for the serrated adjustment wheel and turned it with the flat of my thumb. Sorry, but I forget which direction is which as far as lowering the reflector aim.

    Edit:

Here's a pic a found that shows what the silver adjusting wheel looks like on the back of the foglight housing. Pic is the lower left one.

Got the chance to take a look today and sure enough I found the serrated wheel for adjustment! To see them I took the plastic cover just to the front of the wheels under the front bumper off and was able to reach in there and just turn it by hand but there is also a hole on the cover right under the fog light where you can insert the Philips head screw driver and turn the adjustment wheel. Now my fog lights light up the road in front of the car instead of the top of the trees in the neighborhood... :)

Thank you everyone for your help.

Glad you got them properly adjusted. I'm sure your fellow drivers appreciate it as well. ;)

While installing my HID's I noticed there was a open plug next to the vpns speaker. Did anyone check to see if the 4 was rewired for fogs???

I wouldn't doubt if the main harness in all the Prius Liftbacks were the same. It would cost more money to have unique harness's for each version. There likely is a fog light harness that plugs into that 4 pin connector you found. Hope someone with a Five could check this connector out and tell us if it indeed is for the fog light harness.
