Ok so after a brief panic attack when I realized I sold my OE 15s with my Lexus lug nuts, I found out my OE Prius lug nuts will fit the Lexus wheels temporarily until I can arrange to get the correct lug nuts back and give my buyer the Prius lug nuts. My new tires should be in tomorrow or the next day and I had hoped to have them in place before Mike comes over to install the TRD springs on Sunday. There is nothing as anticlimactic as installing lowering springs on 15" wheels. :p

Maybe but even junk yards want a grip for lug nuts they think are special because the car is uncommon.

I bet the junkyard would trade you even up a set of Lexus lugs for those 15's :)

Then help me sell them, Yo! :)

I do need to get rid of them. Having an extra set of wheels laying around is like being married and having a super hot housekeeper. Ask Arnold Schwarzenegger how that works out!

    *crossing fingers*

I hope my new tires come in today. I'm eager to try these Ecopias.

    I'll remember that! :p

So I got the Ecopia EP422 205/50/17 installed today. Man, it is amazing how much difference there can be between 3 different models of tire!

The EP422 17" tire feels like a damn 15" tire! It is very soft and mushy even with air pressures set at 42/40psi. They ride very well and are pretty quiet. If you told me this was a 17" tire I would have never believed it. In fact, they are softer feeling than even my 195/65/15 Energy Saver A/S when mounted on the 15x7" aftermarket wheel but a little stiffer than the Energy Saver A/S on the OE wheel. I'll write a full review after a few hundred miles but so far this is exactly what I was looking for. A 17" tire that was almost as soft as a 15" tire but offered a little better handling. If the fuel economy is better than the Primacy MXM4 then I will be very happy. I would hate to give up the handling of the MXM4 unless the mpg was worth it.

    What!?

And these are XL, right? Amazing.

Let me know how it goes.

btw . . . I'm in Chandler AZ this week, and my rental is a Mustang convertible. Nice tune on the exhaust pipes, but what an awful transmission. And I wish I had my Prius seats (truly). The tires on the car? Energy Saver A/S. (Underinflated, too.)

They are Xl tires. It's pretty wild how mushy they are. They don't handle anything like the Purecontact or Mxm4 but that's ok. I'll test the fuel economy tomorrow.

How's the Fe on that stang? :)
