My red airbag light on the instrument cluster is coming on intermittently. Off to the dealer to try to solve the problem. Not how I envisioned my first full day of ownership!!

Is it the light when you have a bag or something on the passenger seat?

I think the passenger seat one in above the glove box/storage thing on the passenger side.. not actually on/in the instrument cluster.. I could be wrong.. I really dont pay much attention to that side of the car

Well dropping it off at the dealer today to have a computer replaced that is under the center console. They said the computer is shorting somehow and causing the light to come on. There are only two spare computers in the country so I guess they don't fail that often. Just a bummer it had to happen so early.

Got her back today. They replaced the ECU that controls the airbags, among other things, seems to have resolved the issue. To add insult to injury they left the window open and it rained. Wet behind on the way home, hope this is the last issue for a long time! Did get 100 mpg on the way home though!

    Glad you got it fixed.
Ouch about the windows being left open. You should ask the service manager if he/she likes their car window left open during rain.

I think I will at least be able to get an interior detail out of it in a couple of months. I am worried the wet carpet will start to smell moldy.

It sounds pretty terrible. Was there puddle?
Take some photos, or even video tape it.

No it was just damp enough to wet my rear end. Just afraid it might start to smell.

Well my brother had similar situation.
His maxima was in Nissan dealer's service for few days.
They left his trunk open, no idea why.
He checked his car before signing off, but didn't check trunk.
He notice there was some kind of soggy smell in the car next day, opened the trunk to find puddle of water.
He took some photos, and called the dealer.
Dealer denied of any wrong doings, my brother got one of the random surveys sent out by Nissan.
You can figure the rest out.

You can let the dealer know that you want to give them a score on the survey that they deserve. Remind them that the situation they have created in your car is a concern.
