Things you learn after driving the car for a few days...

The sun visors are rather small. I'm tall so the shading the front works quite well however it is close to useless on the side. For my wife even shading the front will be a real problem.

    Any suggestions?

    Behold the sun visor extender.

Cut one piece of cardboard 8" wide by 15" long. Fold once lengthwise. Tape the ends together with packing tape.

I have this problem everyday traveling on I270, Prius definitely need longer sun visor or one that can pull out on the edge.

I would suggest having the darkest legal tint in a stripe across the top of the front windshield. I did it when i fist bought my car and had the windows tinted. It worked wonders. Still not perfect but it worked in front. I don't even wear sunglasses most of the time.

the cheapest model yaris has a built in sun visor extension and the prius does not have one, go figure. I am planning to get the my driver and passenger side glass top 4 inches tinted with a 5% strip and then over that have them tint the whole glass in 35%. I have always had full tint on all my cars , but my 3rd gen prius the 35% tint in the front alone is not cutting it.

anyone know if the yaris sun visor is interchangeable with the prius one?? that would sound like a useful mod.

I ordered Visormates from Amazon, for 13 bucks you can't beat them.

I actually saw the visormate product and made my own visormate. It costs me $5.00. I went to the fabric store , walmart also has it. elastic waist bands for $2.00 cut to size and sewed them up and purchased the plastic for sale signs or any similar plastic signs you may find for 99 cents custom cut to fit my visor , bingo it's done. Planning to paint them at a later time to color match my visor. Made a set for my other car too.
