I love my new prius but if there was one thing I would like to change...

So I wish the ev moe had better pickup before the ice trips. I if d the ev needs more torque. I. General I wish the car was a bit faster.

Twice today, I had to move the car several feet. Weather wasn't bad (60F, sunny), and the car wasn't cooled down yet from a trip taken about 10 minutes before I got in again. Twice now, the ICE kicked in, although I was going extremely slow, and had my foot on the brake. HV portion of the battery was 100%, while EV was drained.

What a waste of gas, very frustrating, since I was ready to turn the car off as the engine kicked in.

Benalexe -- have you discovered the normal mode / power mode?

Yeah. Power mode does help a lot. Just getting used to it I came from a fast Avalon.

Just remember power mode in EV is touchy, and ICE is tripped on very quick!! But it is cool to power on in EV, keep a close eye on HSI.

Benalexe -- one does not buy a Prius to race away from a red light.

I also own a dodge ram for work....gets 12mpg...ugh! For the past 5 yrs Ive learned to drive that beast very slowly due to its horrid economy. So i was used to driving this way.

I actually do see so many prii out there zipping off the light but for me...this is why i got this car, to get highest MPG i can....no rush for me.

It would be nice if the car had sunshades that you could slide back when your trying to block the Sun on the side windows. My last four cars before the Prii had this.

I had a senior moment today. I was swapping cars in my tandem parking spot and feeling really happy that I had charge in the battery so the ICE would not start. Then a song came on the radio and I went to hit Audio to see who the artist was and hit auto instead. the AC came on and the ICE started - doh.

They don't come with the Advanced model either :( and yes, it is a major pain the nice person. If you're not going to provide the lines then the right side mirror should lower automatically when the car is put in reverse...that's 1995 technology.

i would like an evse that stores in a retactable reel. you could just pull it out and plug it in instead of having to roll it up and store it in the car.
