Hello everyone. I just replaced my stereo last night and now my car will not start with the key in my pocket. I've scoured the internet for an answer, but I have yet to find a solution. One thing to note is that the SKS works to lock/unlock the car. I can walk up to the car, touch to unlock, or press the button to lock without a problem, but when I press the start button inside the car, all I get is the orange exclamation and key symbol with a beep. So, currently, I can only start the car by inserting the fob into the fob slot. I also did a test, I left my key inside of the car with the window rolled down, then pressed the lock button on the door handle and the car locked. So, somehow, the car doesn't recognize that I'm sitting inside the car. Does disconnecting the 12v battery require me to reset something to get this to work, kind of like the auto up/down window switch? Any help is super appreciated, thanks!

Ha, I totally wish that was it! But no, it's good. I've even pressed it in, drove somewhere, then pressed it out hoping to reset it.

could be your 12v or fob battery by coincidence.

Well, I replaced the key fob battery last night, and I'm getting the same result; the car does not recognize that I'm inside. I'm assuming there is a sensor inside to sense this, so does anyone know where that's located so I can double check that he wires are all good? It such a non needed feature, but I've grown super attached to it! Please help! :)

Edit: Is there a fuse that would control the interior sensing? When i disconnected the car's 12V battery, I just disconnected the connector at the positive terminal, not the actual lug so maybe I shorted something?

Awesome! I tried to find something, but I kept using sensor instead of antenna. But anyway, that was the trick. I left the connector off of the antenna in the center console while I was tapping power from the cigarette outlet. I kept thinking it would be around the dash area, so I never thought to look at the console. Thanks a lot!
