    I've burned two CD-Rs with MP3s via the latest iTunes (10.7). When I put the CDs either in the 6-CD Changer OR the single player, the Prius acts like it doesn't recognize them. I can get it to "play" "track 1," but no sound comes out, and when I press skip, it just moves "track 1" to "0:00" and starts again.

    When I look at the MP3 CD on my computer, I see that iTunes put everything into folders:
    01 Artist -- > 01 Album --> file.mp3

    So it looks like everything copied correctly. What am I missing? Are the folders screwing the Prius up?

    Best,
    Jonathan

    My 2007 Prius will play MP3 CDs burned with iTunes but it takes a very long time after the CD is inserted to start playing. Unless I am very patient, it's easy to believe that it isn't going to work.

    Mine has no trouble playing MP3s, but I don't put them into folders.

    I tried letting it play for awhile, still nothing. So weird because I read that the 2007 Prius can play MP3s in folders.

    What happens if you look at the CD in a file manager, esp. in other OS's? It wouldn't surprise me if the Apple guys did something that would conflict with inter-operability in other softwares.

    I haven't actually tried that. I don't have a windows machine near, but I'd give it shot if I can.

    Have you played other mp3 CDs in it previously verbal. Start with the basics, if you place a bunch of plain vanilla* mp3s in the root folder of a standard (74 or 80 min) CD-R then does it play them? If not there your system either doesn't support mp3s or is rooted.

    * A plain vanilla mp3 is cbr 128 or 160 or 192 made with one of the more common encoders.

    Also test if it will play plain audio CD's (plain CDA format) burnt from the same computer to the same CD-R media. If these play ok then at least you know it's not a media compatibility issue.
