That's interesting! Are you saying that your Port Authority account also includes the Thruway discount?

 

this is really how it's supposed to work. you should be able to add any plan to any transponder. the only reason the issuer matters is because some of them charge monthly fees while others don't.

 

When I called the MTA E-ZPass help line a few months ago they said they couldn't do this - I'll try again and hope to get someone who knows what they're doing. Or perhaps you have to start with either a PA or Thruway account, and they can handle both discounts. I'll call the PA also.

In the case of NJ, the Green Pass plan is apparently tag-specific. «

Yes. I looked through my statements and found transactions with PAGREEN, NYGREEN and PACP. That confirms they are working.

Did you get a small green tag? I still have the big one and they have never asked me to return it in exchange for a smaller one.

How long did it take to get the pass after you sent in your registration info?

I signed up for a Thruway account on November 17th and mailed the Green Pass request on the 19th - nothing back from them as of today, the 30th, but there was Thanksgiving in between and I bet they closed for two days. My on-line account doesn't show an added tag yet.

 

I sent in my info over 6 weeks ago, still nothing!
