Really? $2500 off before rebates & incentives? Springfield is only 2 hours away! And the federal tax credit is $2500? Correct?

Yes, as long as your tax liability is 2500 or higher.
I'd suggest finding the car you want in their inventory, then requesting it via buyatoyota.com and selecting Lithia as your dealer (put in something like 97402 for your zip). Then the Internet sales manager, Jason, should get in touch with you shortly after. You can tell him Paul sent you but I'm not sure what that will bring lol.

Make sure you have secured the car and financing before you even leave your house. Keep in mind that the TFS incentives are dependent on how good your credit is.
I was at the dealership for just under 2 hours. Very smooth transaction. You should discuss your trade-in beforehand as well.

How do sales taxes work on a vehicle purchase in Oregon, no sales tax? What if you bring it back to WA?

that depends on the state where you register the car. in the case of california, regardless of where the car is bought, you are required to pay sales tax based on where you register the car (the rate is basically equal to the sales tax, which varies at the CITY level in this wonderful state).
so in my case, i ran the calculations for how much in reg fees i owed to CA, that amount was added to the loan for financing, and the dealer sent a check for the appropriate amount to the CA DMV together with the paperwork for registration.

still though, try to get as much of the negotiation and paperwork done before getting to the dealer. makes for a very smooth experience :)

You can pay the taxes when you register the car in WA or you can have the dealer put them in the loan and for 0% interest that's what I would do.

Lithia said they couldn't let me walk out the door without having me pay something. I had wanted to just pay the taxes and reg myself, but they said that they HAD to put something in their system. So I said fine, gave them the calculation for the fees, and had them add it to the loan.

I've bought my last 3 Toyotas through the internet manager & had everything set before showing up. It was very easy. I am interested though that they say you can get the rebate OR 0% interest as it seems like others have be able to get both.

I sent an email to Jason at the dealer. I'll also check with Justin at Ron Tonkin Toyota as he sold me my current Prius & gave me a great deal.

Ah I see what you're saying. Well, PiP is special because it's selling so poorly. Also, keep in mind, dealer can't really determine TFS rebates — you should look those up at buyatoyota.com directly.

Good call, it says that Toyota is offering $2k off AND 0% interest on the PiP. :) So if the dealer is also discounting the car another $2500 plus the $2500 federal tax credit. Does anyone know if WA state offers any money back? We don't have income tax here so I doubt it unless there is some type of state rebate to encourage plug-in cars.
