mine has that noise only on the outside of the car, you can't hear it inside or when you have the windows down when your driving. I wonder if it applies to other hid kits. I had it w/out a relay and with the relay harness and both still buzzed.

Most ballasts with have that humming sound. I've only come across a cheap set of ballasts that didn't make tat noise......they didn't last that long either

I ordered the 4300k HID kit from Xenon Supply for my IV last week and got them yesterday. Installed fairly quickly following their video instructions. Lights look great! Did a quick test drive and the wide angle of the light is fantastic and the overall whiter and brighter light illuminates the road much better than the stock halogens. The ballasts do a high pitch buzz for 20 sec or so then quiet down. The drive home tonight from work proved the investment was worth it. Total price for kit with the special discount came to under $91, including shipping.

Wish I had waited for the Black Friday deal! Have some pictures? I haven't installed mine yet and I'd love to see how the 4300k look

I'll try to remember to take a pic tonight. The deal was good because of the special Prius discount on the day I ordered - 30% off versus promotion of 25% off. I actually got the link and discount code from here on PC. Wasn't looking to get the HID's, but when I came across the post and looked up the XS website, I viewed the installation video on an actual Prius and pulled the trigger. I went for the 4300k because I didn't want the blue tint.

Thank you very much for this information! I order this set and installed it last night. Amazing brightness and light spread.

    Is it necessary?

Nice! My last car was also an Evo. Evo 9 MR SE - the last samurai as I like to call it. What a difference between the cars. I sold it at a great time. I got more than the cost of my PIP plus some.
