They just made a bunch of changes for 2012. Rarely would a manufacturer make changes again so soon. :)

Thanks for the heads up! Toyota refers to the regular Prius as the liftback.

When I hear "classic", I think Gen 1 (that the US got) aka NHW11.

I thought Toyota made minor changes every year and major changes mid-life of the car. I guess that is not the case. When i bought my Highlander SE in 2010, Toyota added 3 way climate control, leather, and bunch of other options to SE line as standard. In 2011, they added 60/40 split seats to Highlander SE.

I just bought a 2012 Prius hatchback so I am happy that there are no changes in 2013 version.

I don't like new model releases, makes my car feel old.

I don't like birthdays, makes ME feel old.

At least you didn't have to pay the extra $200 for the same thing ;)

Looks like the only thing that changed on Toyota's site is the price.

Wow. Glad there are no changes considering I just bought my 2012 1 week ago tomorrow! :)

I did a side by side comparison of the two and I noticed that the 2013 has an "element" antenna versus the 2012 "roof" antenna. I wonder if this addresses some of the reception issues people have complained about (me included) for the 2012?

Other than that, though, everything is exactly the same...

I went to the toyota.com website, hovered over the Hybrid Vehicles, hovered over the prius, and clicked on the drop down for compare vehicles. I knocked out all the preset "competitors" and inputted a 2012 prius 3 versus a 2013 prius 3 just to see a side by side of the features.

Edit: I couldn't figure out how to change the formatting to show what I could see....

Interesting. I get Element vs Diversity when comparing a 13 Five to a 12 Five.
Wonder if it is a typo. The same comparison also lists the cruising range as 220 miles. I can do more than that in half of a tank.

I didn't even notice that cruising range section. Maybe the 2013 only has a 5 gallon tank!
