Ok I'm planning on buying these B&G springs for my Touring - only because that B&G has confirmed that they fit the Touring, and I appreciate that, so they win my business. I only wish it provided more than a 1" drop, more like Eibach's 1.5" (front).

What I would like to know, is do these B&G springs settle over time. In other words, can I expect greater than a 1" drop after a few hundred miles?

Right. The bottom coil size is different but so is the rear dampers, as Eibach told me. But if the dampers are larger on the Touring won't the B&G springs not fit/sit correctly on the base of the shocks? This is the part I'm struggling with. I just want to be absolutely 100% these will work with the Touring as I didn't see anyone post who has successfully installed these on a Touring - unless B&G can guarantee refunding me for the labor cost if it doesn't work. ;)

    Thanks.

I just joined the forum. I will be buying my first Prius (a V 5 with the Advanced Technology Package), this week.
I have driven a 2010 Prius quite a bit. I've had the stability control kick in quite a few times from my driving on windy roads. As a person who does track days and Time Trials in my 400WHP STi, I am interested in the Prius handling better. I will upgrade the wheels and tires, but am initially interested in a stiffer ride.
What I am finding lacking is information about what rating the TRD lowering springs have and if there is much difference in them and the few that actually list the spring rate for their offerings. I see that some, like B&G say that they increase the stiffness by 10-15%, but relative to what? H&R, Eibach, etc. seem to be sorely lacking on technical data.
Is there anything comprehensive that has been put together on springs for the Prius Third Gen cars?

You've posted in the 2nd gen forums... I haven't browsed the 3rd gen forums much, you might look there: Gen III (2010+) Toyota Prius Forums | PriusChat

You're welcome to see what's been done here in the 2nd gen forums, but read these threads with a grain of salt. It seems many modders are more interested in looks than performance; many designs aren't thought out past the "will the tires clear the fenders" question. Folks swapping out sway bars instead of springs, or springs instead of struts, etc.

If I were looking for a performance upgrade (after tires and wheels), I'd call up a tuning shop that does Toyota and see what coilover kits they can dig up for the Prius. What would be really sharp would be an independent rear suspension conversion... but now I'm just dreaming... :)

Sorry I posted in the wrong area. Yes, numbers for lowering amounts abound but numbers for how the springs actually work or comparisons of spring rates are scarce.
