Who's got the lead with highest mileage?

Actually, in So Cal, unless things have changed from 2 years ago, all traffic school is online now. The "court" traffic schools are all "gone" (something about budget cuts ).

The only comedy about online traffic school is that you dont have to read anything and if you're fast, it may only take an hour to complete.

 

Optimizing MPG which is the discussion requires certain techniques including Pulse and Glide among others which in some cases upsets people who drive behind a Prius and as a result get flipped the occasional bird, but your correct I digress.

 

yeah....I'm just as guilty of going off topic as everybody else, so I understand, (oops, off topic again!)

 

I have not been to traffic school or recieved a ticket in over 12 years, but someone told me you can just skip the content and take the test.

 

Not anymore. At least not with the online school I recently took. There's a timer on the current page you are looking at and you can't get to the next page until it's run out.

 

Well Boo Hoo perhaps it makes sense to just follow the rules.

 

The OP's thread had to do with accumulated miles on the odometer, not maximizing mpg.

 

As I understand it, the carpool lane is not part of the "slower traffic must keep right" set of lanes. Courtesy may indicate moving the non-carpool lane in this situation, but I don't think you can be cited under the "slower traffic keep right" vehicle code.

 

I think the citation would more likely be for impeding traffic, but it would be up to the issuing officer. If you were to give him a hard time, you might get cited for both infractions. I asked a CHP officer aquaintance whether he would cite a carpool lane violator for driving single or crossing the double yellow lines if he witnessed both infractions. He said it would depend on the attitude of the driver. Be polite, and he cites for one. Give him trouble, and you get a double whammy. Of course, a judge or traffic commissioner can dismiss one if he/she sees fit.

 

Ok we'll count me out, my commute is short so lower overall mileage. However in this article PIP vs Volt if you drive under 37 miles in between charges the Volt wins hand down but he PIP is the winner above 37 miles. But this is not a winner take all in the total miles game. Some guy named Stan fron Long Island drove a Volvo over 3 million miles. He was a teacher with a 300 mile daily commute.

Should have fought that ticket. According to CVC, you cannot be impeding the flow of traffic by going the speed limit. Only exception is emergency vehicles.

 

He did. Judge agreed with the officer. He complained that it would have been illegal to speed up. The teacher of the traffic school suggested he move over one lane. I don't know if I agree with the ticket but I do applaud the officer and the judge for giving and sustaining it. Slower drivers have no business in the left lane even if they are going speed limit.

 

Since when is breaking the speed limit illegal?

Italy has the Autostrada and Germany the Autobahn. The USA with it's wide open flat land in his country and it's abundance of super fast European race cars many built in Italy and Germany to fill the appetites of those who transverse the unlimited speed roads is begging for reform. However a national speed limit evoked by Jimmy Carter to conserve fuel still remains in place. Perhaps Obama can tackle the Fiscal Cliff first than work on a American Autostrada.
