Hey guys I have a 32GB Ipod touch 5th generation connected to my PriusV 3 package using the ipod cable. The first day everything was fine, but when I got up the next day the ipod would not play through the cars speakers. The audio would play from the ipods speakers, I turned the car off and back on and it does the same thing. When I turn my Ipod off and back on then the audio will play through the speakers. When I turn the car off and back on it goes back to playing from the Ipod speakers. I can change the tracks from the cars touch screen so clearly the car sees it, but I don't know why the audio will not play from the cars speakers. Any thoughts?

Not seen your issue, I tried it on a itouch with iOS 6.1.
Is your itouch on iOS6.0.1? I suppose you are using Display Audio and Nav system.
Must you always reset the Apple device to get the audio on the speakers?
    does reinserting helps?

Yes it has 6.0.1, they only I can get it to play from my car audio is to turn it off or switch it to Bluetooth and turn it off. Once I turn the car off I have to repeat this process to have the audio play through my speakers. I connected my Iphone and it works just fine but it doesn't have 6.0.1 so I couldn't tell ya if it's 6.0.1 or not. I ordered the software update from Toyota, maybe that will fix the problem. Reinserting the cable does nothing.

I get this every once in a while with my 4G iPod with iOS 5.1. Some combination of turning on and off and unplugging and replugging will fix it. Turning the car on and off never fixed it, so I don't try that anymore. Sometimes, I can't even get Entune to recognize the iPod. Just refuses to play. Welcome to the beta test. My car is only 6 weeks old. Sorry, I don't have any answers for you.

The dealer should've updated the software to 2.1 for you. You can call Toyota and request an update stick, or try the dealer.
