    SOLD

I'm seriously considering swapping back to a 15" wheel combo but the only option that appeals to me are the Plug-In wheels and an Energy Saver A/S tire. I'd be willing to do a local or SoCal swap. Because of the expense involved with the CT wheels and the much more expensive 205/50/17 tires I would like to do a swap for your wheels/tires plus cash so I can get a set of Energy Saver A/S tires.

If interested let me know. I will be in the LA area for Christmas although I prefer to work a deal closer to Sacramento. I'm also open to selling these wheels/tires outright so I can buy the PIP wheels.

No comments from the peanut gallery about my addiction to new tires. :censored:

I'd seriously consider the trade + cash (depending how much) if you somehow felt enamored with my eyesore 2012 OEM 15" non plug-in wheels and tires...

Thanks for the call yesterday. Let me know how it goes. I just found out that the PIP wheels are heavier than the OE 15" wheels so I am considering going back to the stock wheels if you decide you don't want the CT wheels.

About 2 lbs heavier but 10 spokes makes it very nice. Probably more aerodynamic as well. 49 MPG on the highway. :)

There is no cover or protective ring for PiP rims. It is raw alloy wheels. That's another thing to think about.

That is a selling point for me. I hate the cheap plastic covers. I NEVER curb my wheels so I am not worried about protection.

I just don't want to hold onto my 17s for too long. I drive a lot of miles and I don't want to wear the tires down and reduce their value. PIP wheels are nice but most of the ones for sale are higher than what I would pay for them. So I'm trying to make a deal that is worth my loss in appearance and work as a cheap upgrade for a PIP owner.

Remember I was getting 60-64mpg at 60mph on the highway when I had my stock 15s and Energy Saver A/S tires. :p

I'm also open for selling them outright so I can buy a set of PIP wheels. I'll be in the Chatsworth area during Christmas if that helps facilitate a sale.

F8L, does it mean you now have PiP wheels?

Yeah. The car doesn't look as nice but I have the option of running the tires I want now. Interestingly, the difference in FE between the CT wheels with Ecopia EP422 tires and the PIP wheels with the OE Yokohama S33D tires is not huge. It's similar to what I reported earlier this year at around 3-4mpg. Hypermiling and the use of Energy Saver A/S tires will make this difference larger, however.

Easier to turn right? The steering wheel feels less stiff.

Yup. The car doesn't feel as "heavy" with regards to steering and take off. It would be nice to get a set of Drag DR34 wheels which are much lighter (14.25lbs vs. 18.25lbs) and still look somewhat decent. Most of the truly lightweight wheels are either very expensive or butt ugly. lol

Here it is with the PIP wheels. It just looks like a lowered PIP without the silver accents. I'll add 15mm spacers to the rear wheels someday.
