2007 Package 6 Headlight Issue

    Hello Priuschat,

    I have a 2007 Prius with 151,000 miles on it and I am having head light issues. My mechanic recently replaced my driver side bulb although it is still working intermittently. After reading this forum I order Phillips D4R Bulbs and I intend to replace both bulbs when they arrive. In the case that these bulbs do not solve my problem and both sides are still working intermittently what do I do next?

    I believe the ballasts would be the next logical step although I can't find any information on this forum about replacing the ballasts. I am so happy with my Prius but this issue and the cost associated with it really makes regret buying a higher trim level with xenons.

    Please help me out, I just want my prius back to its former glory, where I don't need to turn the lights on and off every few minutes to ensure they are on.

    To replace the ballast you need to take the whole assembly out pretty sure its on the bottom look on ebay hardest part is getting the headlight out of the car a few fender skirt screws and a few on the bumper cover no need to remove the whole thing. 3 bolts on the light to up top and one on the fender. Sure its your ballast?
    I just replaced blubs that where doing the same, now they stay on and work as they should but I have the headlight icon on the dash lite up all the time, whats with that was doing some reading about leveling motor and sensor on rear axle about corroded springs? any thoughts.

    Thanks for the insight....Another problem has recently popped up with my Prius....when I brake I get a red exclamation mark and the work "problem" on the Nav Display momentarily....I hope I'm not making a mistake by keep this car for the long haul.
