Did you check the audio path on the phone? Perhaps it was pointing to the wrong output? Just a thought.
Quickly press the Home button twice, then swipe the multitask bar to the right until you see the audio controls. If there is more than one path (USB and Bluetooth), there will be an icon in the bottom right you can press to select the path.
I tried that and there is none out of the 5 icons: orientation lock; left skip; play; right skip and music note icon.
I have an iphone 5 with iOS 6.0.1 and am experiencing similar issues. Here is an article on the topic that may be relevant to these issues. I know that the Apple Lightning cable/connector has pretty much eliminated any iphone 5 users from using the features on HUs like the AppRadio as well as the Bluetooth issues experienced by other iOS 6 users. Some car stereos require a firmware update for AVRCP 1.4 Bluetooth compatibility - Some car stereos require a firmware update for AVRCP 1.4 Bluetooth compatibility
I was having bluetooth audio issues with my iPhone 5 as well. Noticed the stereo was at version 1.8.4, updated to 2.1.0 and all is working great now.
How do you update the Prius stereo? I'm having a problem with bluetooth playback. Podcasts won't play back correctly at anything other than 1x speed. It worked fine before I upgraded to iOS6, but I wonder if there's a problem with the Prius firmware that needs updating.
I found a forum on toyotanation that talked about upgrading from 1.8.4 to the latest. Someone posted up the ISo to download and put on a USB stick. Simple enough. If you don't feel comfortable doing that, the dealer service dept should be able to update. My main bluetooth problem was that the Audio connected once, and then never would connect again. Just would say loading......
I did the USB update to 2.x but still having persistent Bluetooth connectivity issues. Switch from Bluetooth to radio or a number of other things, it says loading. Re-pair it with the iPhone and plays for a second or a minute and then stops again. Annoying.
did you try to close all the background Apps and reset the phone to see if it works? BTW which iphone and what OS?
No, I don't think I tried resetting the phone but I will give it a try when I get home from vacation. iPhone 5, iOS 6.0.1
I can't get Pandora or Heart radio to work but the other apps work fine. I have a iPhone 4S and a 2012 Prius with Nav and Bluetooth etc.
iOS 6.0.2 is just out. @ JMD Did you login to the entune site to enter your Pandora and iHeart User Account? If you have done it what kind of error are you seeing when you attempt to launch Pandora or iheart?
Huh. I have an iPhone 5 and have zero issues with the bluetooth and/or USB. None. I have Entune installed but raely ever use it. I usually listen to Slacker radio over bluetooth, works fine. I never have an issue with the phone or answering calls, even with the radio off. The only thing that is annoying is when I'm on the phone, get in the car, start it, and the car "hijacks" my call and starts playing it over the bluetooth.....annoying if you have passengers in the car and don't want to broadcast your phone call I did notice the bluetooth and USB seems to freak out if I try to plug in the phone while the car is still starting up. I've just learned to wait until the car finishes the start cycle and the bluetooth connects before plugging in the USB. Maybe that's the issue you're having?
It will work but you need to go to Setup and find the spot where you enter your Entunes ID and Password, once the car has the ID/Password it will work.
I have a crappy Samsung texting phone and my phone will no longer connect to the blue tooth in my Prius. Is there a way to fix this problem?
