I'm thinking about getting these rims. They're 18 x 7.5 size. TSW Nurburgring.

Here are some things I'm wondering:

    • How do they look on the car? Anyone ever get these in 18's on their Prius? Any pics?
    • Is 225/40/ZR18 the best size without rubbing?
    • What kind of tires is best with these types of wheels if I'm not really going for speed? I just want to make the car look better but still be practical.
    • Anyone know of a place I could get these in SoCal for a good price?
    • Any input on what it's like to drive on either these or any 18's in general (sound, stiffness, feel)

I run 225.40.18 and there is no rubbing at all. I am lowered on TRD springs. The ride is a bit firmer, but the handling package I have its great. ( TRD : springs and sway bars, and I have the Rude person's under brace)

Did you do the wheels before you lowered it? Just wondering how it felt with modded wheels only. I'm imagining that springs will only make it even firmer than just wheels?

The problem with this is most 18s will make the Prius look goofy unless lowered.

Those actually look great. Anyone have those? I wonder what tire size is best with those and if anyone has fitment issues.

I'll let the 18" wheel experts answer that. Figment shouldn't be an issue because they offer a 47mm offset which is nice. If that is too close to the strut tower then a 5mm spacer could be used. I considered getting them in a 15" because of the low price and light weight (14.25lbs).

Economy of scale? Manufacturing location and distribution strategy? I don't know but tons of people run Drag wheels and I don't hear about problems. At almost half the price of the TSWs it's a decent deal for a bit more weight.

You're welcome. Just trying to provide options that could save you money. :)

Stay away from the MB Mesh wheels. They have a similar look but they are crazy heavy at 28+lbs.

BTW, I think TSW would have better economies of scale. They've been around longer and seem to sell much more on volume.

Nice choice in wheels. The mesh pattern is classic and timeless.

Probably ordering today. I hope these rims/tires don't give me issues... The TSWs seem superlight.
