I just bought the fog lights from PCshop and want to add the extra protection of a clear film. I've seen Laminx sell it for $15. Anyone else out there? What thickness should I get 12mil or 40mil? If its the 40mil will it be too thick and press against the housing?

I put the 12mil on mine and although it has kept them from cracking, the film as tarnished to a slight yellow in color. With all the pits in the film is also holds the dirt and makes it hard to clean.

I am thinking next time I will get a quality pair of fogs with DOT/SAE approved glass and hope for the best. I wasn't overly impressed with Laminx.

Laminx has caused some headlight lenses on other cars to craze and Laminx won't take responsibility for it. Probably a low risk though.

I had the yellow tint before and it did tarnish over time. But if I get the clear color will it turn yellow?
