This Bluetooth controlled power plug measures power and allows remote on/off via smart phone app. Seems like it would be easy to make it into a timer, charge for X watt-hours, etc.

Simple and small...seems like every EVSE should come with this built-in.

The only real limitation is that you must be within Bluetooth range.

:-( not yet for sale...need to wait a few months

Thats a good idea, I am tired of my jacket smelling like pizza for a few days after I zip the pizza boxes in it. I like meter plug idea, should be on a regular outlet...monitor the whole house one day!

So this device gives the same info as Kill-A-Watt, but over your cellphone instead of a readout on the device, when you are within Bluetooth range. If there is an advantage, I'm afraid I don't see it. Plus the Kill-A-Watt may be cheaper, depending on the model selected. Now, if they could make it so it fed info to your cellphone while you were away from home.........

It is software controlled from the phone.
    You can do remote on/off.
You can do unattended remote on/off/logging (in theory, just more software)

As an average iPhone app may be $2.00 bucks but should be for free with an access code for the plug purchasers.

The advanced models have the entunes app that allows for charge monitoring. I don't know why you'd want to stop charge remotely.

What a great idea this little device is. I could easily take my 10' tablet that has bluetooth, put these around the house and monitor it all! I could also add a Bluetooth card to the Solar Monitor Computer.... Potential!
    Sweet!
I ordered 2 to check them out, but if they function like stated, I will probably get many more

Because you started charging to go out later and you changed your mind...you want to try and have a full battery right when you leave.
