Launch sequence commences in T-minus 22 hours...

What I thought was going to be a bummer of a Christmas holiday - single, alone, sons unable to visit and first Christmas without my mom (she passed last January) has turned into something adventurous and out of the box - a good friend of mine (also happily single) called me a few weeks ago and said "How about skiing Christmas Eve and Christmas Day?"

She didn't have to twist my arm - packing today and driving to her house tomorrow and then she will take the next leg of the trip to New Hampshire....and with no snow in the forecast here I can travel in style - the "Spaceship from Planet Zok" is about to get refueled and loaded for a trip that commences in T-minus 22 hours.

Not sure of my Internet access so this is a wish to the PriusChat community - best wishes for a happy holiday season - keep yourself and loved ones safe. May you get the mods you want for your "babies" in 2013.

Save the phone calls and texts for a time when you are not on the road and tell family members the same.

Don't let anyone drive under the influence. A cab or designated driver is cheaper and safer.

Find joy in every moment you are awake to find and enjoy it. Tomorrow is never promised.

Leave anger behind. It took me a lot of time to let mine go but once I did, everything started looking brighter... or is that the bright setting on the headlamps?!

Happy Holidays - and if you hear someone shouting some really naughty words from a mountaintop in New England (blush), it might be me taking my dad's advice to heart to buy an outfit I like, go to the top of a mountain and actually shout to my ex about how I survived all his malarkey and have become a "hottie" and he lost out on a gift and, oh, look at me now. Dad used a lot of colorful language in the script he provided for me. Me?!

If dad was talking about hottie=hot flashes (I prefer to call them "power surges"), he might be right. Dad's and a coworker's descriptive word - definitely NOT mine!

I am packed and ready for departure... will let everyone know on re-entry on how the trip was! (Hoping the tiles underneath can withstand re-entry twice... doubling the retro rockets with hairspray cans....)

 

My Prius is anxiously awaiting for launch... we are fueled, packed and ready to go! Merry Christmas to... ME!

 

I have a bumper sticker at my desk that says "They are not hot flashes, they are power surges." The moms who are in the main office laugh - some of the kids laugh as well.

I like "personal summer" - we have called it a "personal tropical vacation" at my office...

I am still running AC in my office... and even though it is cooler out the fan/hot flash detector kicked on when I got into the Prius after running a few weeks ago.

I think due to the hot flashes I am the cause of global warming. Now if there just was a mod to run my Prius off that energy...
