Still loving "some" people... Chapter Two!

    And the saga continues....

    Someone on one of those Gawdawful dating sites emailed me. "Nice smile," for starters.

    Four emails later I have quickly learned this soul is a chain smoking, drinking, hybrid hating yet "green minded" type who likes living in a wood stove heated environment kept at 90 degrees. Oh and he pulled the "I'd like to be next to you... You can keep me warm!" card out way too quickly. Yeah, and I will be smelling like an ashtray. I am already reaching for the albuterol to stop an asthma attack....

    On the car question I quietly mentioned, I drive a truck and a hybrid. I should have said "Prius" to duplicate the rant and retreat the last guy who asked me that question did.

    I immediately got the rant about how hybrids are not green, disposing of the batteries... Yadda, yadda, yadda. Ok green minded soul, how about recycle and reuse? Nope, that fact was not considered. And breathing in cigarette infused air?

    I politely said, this won't work as I hate the heat, love the cold, love my truck and my hybrid and I have asthma. I am still gagging at the thought of the smell of cigarette smoke....and Gawd forbid that smell get inside my home or car....

    Control-alt-delete.

    I do have four others I am getting to know and since I have gone on two dates with one kind soul, he knows what I drive. And is OK with it and the horsepower that lives behind my house. And likes coffee... May have hit the "must love horses, coffee and Prius" trifecta! ;)

    Where are you looking? Match? I used to do Udate and Match. It can be a minefield. You have to become a forensic psychologist, interpreter, sleuth and clairvoyant.

    At least he was an obvious ignoranus, it's the less obvious ones that are the real problem. :eek: Take care navigating the dating scene minefield.

    Look at how politicians abuse the religious banner. I doubt things are any better on dating sites. I had a woman show up for a date and she was overweight, compared to the old pictures she posted. She immediately offered me a giant cookie. Opposite of "Cookie, little girl?"

    Guys do the same thing. My personal favorite is the guy who wants a petite slender woman who likes cooking and dining out. WTH?! Unless she's bulimic or has a stellar metabolism, she's out there with Prince Charming in storybook land!

    And that same guy describes himself as athletic and trim...and the only muscles he has are from doing six pack curls....

    Now that you are on a dating site, perhaps you could shed some light on this question I have: Is the button for starting a conversation hidden for the girls?


    Oh, and if I was to extrapolate from my experience on-line, then our species is going to end with this generation.

    I don't think so on the hidden button - I jump on the site for a moment, see what the site has considered a "match", look at the number of "drive bys," yawn, grab a cup of tea or a can of diet Coke and do something else. I do not email any of my "matches" any more - if they are interested, they can find me. They have to get by the horses first.:D

    Saves me time to come here and surf the threads. ;)
